It is a great honor and privilege to learn and commune with a true elder.

Ceremonial Chief Sunkawakhan Sapa of Lakota Tradition has been walking the medicine path for over 40 years.

He’s adopted Lakota and Navajo, and is deeply steeped in traditions, prayers, and wisdom that have been passed down for millennia.

In a gathering of indigenous leaders and elders from all over the world, I was able to experience one of his ceremonies. It was nothing short of magical.

Synchronistically, his late wife was a Filipina who came from a lineage of babaylans, traditional Philippine healers. Which is one of the factors that brought him to our land.

If you feel the call, we ask that you refrain from alcohol within 24 hours from any ceremony.
It’s also a sign of respect to arrive punctually, for men to wear pants or sarongs. And for women to wear skirts.

Trust in divine timing and honor the season you are in.

For the past few months, the “WisDome” has been in cocoon mode.
We paused events and classes.
We invested in upgrades to the roof and interior.
We took a moment to ask ourselves, how can we really make a meaningful impact with whatever we have now?

The answers came slowly . . . but they came.

Real transformation doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time for roots to deepen, it takes dedication to see a vision thru,
it takes patience for the butterfly to emerge.

Now, we are once again ready to spread our wings.
