Your drag artists from Dragbalogan, the first and only registered Drag Association in Catbalogan City, proudly participated in the Eastern Visayas Pride Alliance 2025, the biggest Pride Celebration in Region 8.

They were joined by drag artists from across the region in a vibrant showcase of pride, unity, and self-expression.

The celebration included a lively parade through downtown Tacloban, where participants marched in solidarity to promote equality, acceptance, and LGBTQIA+ rights. Later in the evening, the festivities continued at Mind Zone with a Pride Night celebration, featuring performances, music, and heartfelt messages from the community.

The event served as a powerful platform to highlight the creativity, resilience, and voices of the LGBTQIA+ community in the region. Through performances, conversations, and community engagement, the celebration emphasized the importance of visibility and solidarity.

From NYC Calabarzon:

As part of our continued commitment to inclusive youth development and genuine gender equality in the Philippines, the National Youth Commission stands firm in championing Social Inclusion and Equity—one of the ten Centers of Youth Participation identified in the Philippine Youth Development Plan (PYDP).

We continue to promote greater awareness and respect for SOGIESC—not just for the LGBTQIA+ community, but for everyone.

SOGIESC represents the rich diversity of all identities and human bodies. Understanding and embracing this diversity is key to building a safe, equal, and compassionate society for all.

Lea Salonga is the light that helped her son Nic to reflect who he was inside-- more than an ally to the transgender community, Lea Salonga is an ally to her son and stand proudly beside him.

In an inclusive interview with People Magazine, Award-winning Filipino Broadway star Lea Salonga shared her parenting journey and experiences as a mother to her trans son Nic Chien. For years, Lea had been the support system of Nic, and will continue to be as the young man will venture on his transitioning journey.

In a world of gender-suppression, may it be country-wide or as small as one's family-- be a Lea Salonga, who poured her heart in creating a whole new world by celebrating the identity of her child.

This month, we're focusing on essential life skills to help our scholars plan their post-graduation adventure!

It pays to have an entrepreneurial mindset so our scholars will have a marketing refresher as well as a crash course on entrepreneurship. And because we know the journey ahead isn't always going to be smooth sailing, we will have a session on mental health as well as navigating office life. Finally, we're excited to hear from our mega mentor of the month, artist and activist Rhadem Musawah from Mujer-LGBT.

Defund Oppression, Not Our Lives

Lagablab LGBT Network Statement on the U.S. Aid Freeze

The Trump administration’s decision to freeze foreign aid—including critical funding for LGBTQI+ rights and health services—has placed countless lives at immediate risk. Lagablab LGBT Network, alongside our member organizations fighting for human rights, depends on these resources to sustain life-saving programs such as HIV prevention, trans healthcare, and legal aid for LGBTQI+ individuals facing discrimination and violence. This abrupt withdrawal is not just a policy shift—it is a direct attack on the survival and dignity of marginalized communities.

But this is more than a funding crisis—it is the legacy of colonial exploitation. For decades, the U.S. has fueled global inequalities, extracting resources while positioning itself as a benefactor. Now, this reckless abandonment deepens the harm. Reparations, not neglect, should define its responsibility to the communities it has historically exploited.

Yet, while this crisis exposes the dangers of dependency on foreign aid, it also strengthens our resolve to build lasting, community-led solutions. Our rights, health, and futures cannot be left to the whims of shifting political agendas. We call on the Philippine government to step up, ensuring that LGBTQI+ healthcare and human rights are fully funded and protected at national and local levels. We urge our international allies to stand in solidarity and invest in sustainable, grassroots-led funding mechanisms. And we call on every citizen to demand accountability—ensuring that essential services are safeguarded from corruption and political exploitation.

Justice is not charity. Human rights should never be conditional. We refuse to be silenced. We will rise stronger, more determined, and united in the fight for equality.
