Catubig District Hospital would like to address the issues circulating regarding the cleanliness of our Comfort Rooms (CRs) and the facilityโs water supply.
First, we would like to inform the public that our hospital maintains a regular and strict cleaning schedule. Our Institutional Workers (IWs) conduct cleaning and disinfection of CRs multiple times daily. In addition, necessary repairs and maintenance are carried out regularly to ensure that our facilities remain functional and sanitary.
Based on inspections conducted by the Department of Health (DOH) Licensing Team and the Provincial Quality Assurance Team, our hospital has been recognized as one of the cleanest hospitals in the province. This reflects our continuous efforts to provide a clean and quality healthcare environment.
However, it has been observed that improper use of CR facilities such as disposing of napkins, tissues, and other waste materials in toilet bowls and sinks significantly contributes to clogging and unsanitary conditions. We strongly urge all patients and watchers to practice proper waste disposal and help maintain cleanliness within the hospital.
Regarding the water supply, the hospital previously had a natural water source from the mountains; however, this source has diminished over time. At present, while the hospital continues to ensure water availability within its capacity, there are instances of limited supply particularly during dry conditions. To address this, the hospital has taken proactive measures, including deploying personnel to manually supply water to ensure uninterrupted services for patients. Since the pandemic, the hospitalโs water has been augmented through a connection to the Local Government Unitโs supply, which helps sustain water distribution within the facility.
We also emphasize that Catubig District Hospital operates under the Provincial Government of Northern Samar, where funding is allocated to support ongoing repairs and infrastructure improvements within the facility.
We would like to express our deepest and most sincere appreciation to our Provincial Governor, Hon. Harris Christopher M. Ongchuan and Mayor Solomon G. Vicencio for their unwavering support and commitment to Catubig District Hospital. Their leadership, dedication, and continuous assistance play a vital role in enabling us to deliver quality healthcare services to our community.
We assure the public that all concerns raised have already been addressed, and we remain committed to delivering clean, safe, and quality healthcare services.
We ask for the publicโs cooperation, understanding, and responsible use of hospital facilities. Maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility.
For official concerns or reports, please coordinate directly with the hospital administration.
Thank you.
