Netflix's 'Squid Game' may be an interesting series to binge, but it also shows a very real dynamic of what goes on in the mind of someone suffering from a gambling disorder.

Gamblers, like the players in the deadly games in the show, may be drawn to gambling initially because of desperation (wanting to improve their lives in a quick way). But they keep on gambling—they stay in the game—because of the thrill, the possibility of winning with just one more bet.

In the end, gambling only produces losers. And apart from the gambler himself, the biggest loser of all, as statistics show, is the family of someone with a gambling addiction.
