Capecitabine is an oral fluoropyrimidine carbamate that is enzymatically converted in the body to fluorouracil (5-FU). It inhibits DNA synthesis and slows the growth of rapidly dividing cancer cells. It is commonly used in colorectal and breast cancer.

- Hand-foot syndrome (palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia)
- Diarrhea
- Nausea and vomiting
- Stomatitis
- Fatigue
- Myelosuppression
- Elevated liver enzymes
