On โ August 15, 2025 โ the Redwood Scouts proudly conducted their Hazard Hunt and Emergency Drill, an activity that strengthens awareness, discipline, and preparedness among the scouts. Through teamwork and sharp observation, the scouts trained their eyes not just to see, but to respond to the dangers that may arise in real life.
The day began with the LCโs gathering early to plan out the activity โ ensuring order, teamwork, and above all safety. Soon after all scouts assembled, ready to take on the challenge.
With guidance from SCL Abellaneda and SCT Marte, the scouts engaged in safety discussions and disaster scenario talks, sparking critical thinking and leadership in the face of emergencies. From there, the crews joined the Hazard Hunt, where they scanned the environment, identified risks, and tested their focus under pressure.
But the challenge didnโt end there. In the midst of the activity, an earthquake drill was suddenly called. The Scouts scrambled to look for cover simulating the chaos of a real disaster. To test awareness, one scout was secretly taken out of the group โ and when the crews regrouped, no one noticed who was missing. This powerful lesson reminded everyone that true preparedness means not only protecting yourself, but also keeping an eye on your fellow scouts because in real emergencies, lives depend on it.
The activity concluded with reflection, cleanup, and dismissal โ proving once again that preparedness today is protection tomorrow. It is a reminder that a true scout is always ready, LAGING HANDA.
