What does it really mean to become a Scout?

That question lingered in the air on August 1, 2025, as a room full of Grade 7 aspirants sat in nervous silence, waiting for their name to be called. You could feel it, the pressure, the panic, the self-doubt. Some clutched their passports. Others whispered lines under their breath. Most of them, if not all, were afraid they’d mess up.

But one by one as they walked forward not just with words, but with presence. Not just to answer questions, but to reveal character. And what we saw was potential. They didn’t just meet expectations. In many ways, they surpassed them.

They spoke with clarity, they stood with strength and they reflected with honesty. These were not Scouts waiting to be told who they could become, these were young people already becoming.

To our Grade 7 aspirants, 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒.

𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐍. 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃.

Redwood’s very own Leaders’ Council members, Jhalel Alexander Mangayao, Kaye Angelee Tiu, and Drake Nino Romales took the lead and brought the field to life with a blast of commands, exercises, and team-building drills for the Grade 8 to 10 Scouts. What started as a task turned into a takeover, energy was high and teamwork was everywhere.
They didn’t just guide the movement, they created memories. This is what Redwood leadership looks like: memorable, student-led leadership thats always rising!

For three days and two nights, we trained and led facing every task with focus and discipline. Each session was a step forward in shaping the kind of leaders our movement deserves.

Congratulations to all the scouts who showed up and stepped up,. You didn't just pass you progressed. You crafted confidence, gathered courage, and walked out better than you came in.

In an inspiring adventure today with our outfit advisor Sir Larz Maunes and the LC's to orient the high-school department, to teach about the fundamentals of scouting, about the basic commands, and movements. To also teach them about the complex Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). To shape these scouts to soar the skies and to shape by discipline and efficiency. 💪
