Menstruation and period poverty are not just 'women's issue', it also affects trans men, non-binary people, and gender-nonconforming individuals.

This Pride Month, and especially today on Pride Day, we stand for period equity that includes every body with dignity for all. It is important to use inclusive language when talking about periods. A simple act of inclusiveness already creates a community of respect and support. 💖

Let’s continue uplifting and supporting all individuals who menstruate. 🌈 Wishing you a joyful rest of Pride Month and may we carry Pride with us all year long!

This Independence Day, we honor the courage of those who fought for our nation’s freedom. But today, we’re reminded: freedom should go beyond the pages of history and it should be felt in our everyday lives.

For many women and girls, true freedom means having access to basic needs like period care, education, and the right to live with dignity. Yet, period poverty continues to hold many back whether from school, from work, or from fully living. At Gihay, we believe in a future where no woman is left behind, where liberation also means access, equity, and the freedom to bloom.

Let’s build a Philippines where every girl is free to learn, lead, and live fully even on her period. Padayon ta permi 🌸

This Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, we didn’t just talk the talk—we walked it. 💪🏽💖

Held every May 28, Menstrual Hygiene Day is a global movement to break the silence, raise awareness, and promote access to menstrual products, education, and dignity. At Gihay, we believe in building a where menstruation is met with understanding, not shame; access, not struggle; and equity, not silence. 🌍🩸

To our amazing volunteers, thank you for staying, showing up, and standing with Gihay. Your commitment fuels our mission toward menstrual equity and care for all.

From making bracelets to help fund future operations, to reflecting on what a period-friendly world means in one word, and capping it all off with a quick jog around the plaza, thanks for spending your time with us. 🌺🏃🏽‍♀️

🌸 𝗚𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘀, 𝗚𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻 🌸

This was our mantra yesterday as the Gihay Initiative bloomed once again in service at the Sta. Rita de Cascia Women and Children Center in El Pardo, Cebu City. In partnership with Cebu Normal University - College of Public Governance, Safety, and Sustainability - Student Council and the Gender and Development Committee, we shared this message of self-love and body positivity during our menstrual health and hygiene talk to promote knowledge, comfort, and confidence during their monthly bloom. 🩸👩

In perfect timing with Menstrual Health Awareness Month and with everyone's help, we were able to distribute 144 reusable menstrual napkins! Each kit serves as a step toward menstrual dignity and equity for the strong women and children we met. This also brings our total count to over 900 napkins distributed which is just a few blooms away from our 1,000-napkin milestone! 💖

Aside from menstrual kits, we were also able to donate lots of clothes for the kids, teens, and mothers. Our small act of love that we hope brought warmth and joy to the community.

Daghang salamat to our generous donors and volunteers who made this blooming day possible. Your support keeps us going, one kit, one conversation, and one community at a time. Padayon ta 🌺
