I am Ada Luyong Mendiola, a graduate student in Clinical Psychology at Cebu Institute of Technology - University, Cebu City, Philippines. My thesis is entitled Parenting Styles and Adolescent Mental Health: A Correlational Study Utilizing The Mental Health Continuum Quadratic Model. This page is created to expand my scope of potential respondents ages 12 to 19 residing in Metropolitan Cebu. In the Philippines, research findings are scarce on whether parenting styles have any correlation with adolescent mental health. Thus, the purpose of the study is to investigate adolescent mental health and its relationship to their perceived parenting style. The results of this study will benefit adolescents, parents, mental health care professionals, educators, citizens of Metropolitan Cebu, and future researchers.
