The Department of Ophthalmology celebrated August as Sight Saving Month by conducting a Lay Fora about Common Eye diseases among the Elderly and Pediatric age groups, Eye Emergencies, and the Importance of Children going outside the home to play.
We have also participated with the Kangaroo Mother Care Continuity Care Clinic in teaching mothers and parents about Retinopathy of Premature; and taught our colleagues at the KAAMBAG Clinic about Visual Acuity!

A successful Sight Saving Month indeed!

A successful Lay Forum by the Department of Ophthalmology & VSMMC Eye Center staff held at the Alegria Municipal Hall last June 17, 2023.
We invited representatives of the local healthcare workers of the neighboring municipalities and imparted knowledge on the basics of eye diseases and examination.
Your local baranggay and health centers are now ready to assist you with your eye problems!

Next up are the municipalities in the North later in the year. See you soon!
