Last night February 4, 2926 the rescue team successfully rescued an individual suffering from online gambling and drug addiction, who also faced severe anger issues.

The family is overjoyed, knowing that he will finally receive the treatment and rehabilitation he desperately needs in Safehaven.

Lord God as always we are grateful for the guidance and safety that you have provided to the rescue team.

Joshua's life took a downward turn, leaving him feeling lost and hopeless.

In 2021, a friend introduced him to Safehaven, a place that offered him a chance for recovery.

When his family learned about his situation, they immediately went to Safehaven to support him in his treatment. Despite what others believed—that he would never change—Joshua proved them wrong and became a symbol of HOPE.

Now year 2026 not only 5 years in recovery and instead of being a problem in the society, he is doing great in Canada, where he not only serves delicious meals to people but also takes pride in cooking them himself.

Joshua’s journey shows that there is always HOPE for a better future.❤️

Residents of Banilad and Talamban in Cebu City likely recognize Philip, a familiar face often spotted at a local bakeshop.

Upper left photo was taken in 2023, and just a few months later, in March 2024, Philip was rescued and brought to Safehaven.

Now, two years Philip is doing great, as shown in the recent photos taken yesterday January 29,2026 together with his family, friends, and relatives.

This journey highlights the power of HOPE, proving that despite life's challenges, improvement and happiness are always within reach.❤️

We want to give a huge shoutout and Kudos to Berta for being a beacon of hope for Ampol. Seeing Berta—who once faced similar struggles on the streets of Cebu—now standing strong and helping a fellow Cebuano take those first steps toward medical care is what the village is all about.

Ampol has gained popularity on social media for his impressive dance moves, bringing joy to many Cebuanos. However, it is clear that he needs assistance.

John Lumayag of Cebu City Anti-Mendicancy Office and Ma'am Portia from the Department of Social Welfare and Services (DSWS) are all working together to help Ampol leave the streets and improve his quality of life.

Today January 27,2026 Ampol was brought to Safehaven Recovery Village through CCAMO, Berta and the staff welcomed Ampol, ensuring he will receive the care he needed.❤️

We are hopeful that like Berta, he will become a symbol of HOPE for others. A big thank you goes to Mayor Nestor Archival, John Lumayag and Ma'am Portia for their trust in Safehaven.

"SELFISH KAAYO ANG BISYO." (ADDICTION IS SO SELFISH.)

In a recent interview at the village, Rusty shared a realization that many in recovery eventually face: the narrow focus of addiction. When a "bisyo", whether it’s drugs, alcohol, or gambling—takes over, it demands everything. It demands all your time, all your money, and all your headspace, leaving very little for the people who matter most.

"Selfish kaayo ang bisyo," Rusty admits. It’s a hard truth to swallow, but acknowledging it is where the healing begins.

At Safehaven Recovery Village, we help our residents like Rusty look past the "selfishness" of their past habits. We provide a structured environment where they can shift their focus back to responsibility, empathy, and rebuilding the bridges that were burned.
