There is a mind-body connection in humans. Thus, there is a reciprocal relationship between our mental, physical, and social well-being. Students' mental health matters because it affects their ability to study and engage in classroom activities.

Students' mental health impacts their:
• ability to learn in school
• ability to establish meaningful and positive relationships
• academic performance
• stress management
• physical health

A student's academic performance is impacted by their mental health. Mentally healthy students are ready to learn. They are more likely to be driven to complete their school and have stronger self-esteem.
A student who is experiencing mental health issues or who has been diagnosed with a mental health disorder may find it difficult to focus, retain information, and solve problems. They could also struggle to perform to expectations in the classroom.



How can students take care of their mental health while going through their academic life?

Students can prioritize self-care techniques to take care of their mental health in the fast-paced environment of today. This means leading a well-rounded lifestyle that includes frequent exercise, a balanced diet, and enough sleep. Establishing boundaries and practicing good time management helps ease stress, and fostering social relationships offers emotional support.

Managing stress and preserving mental health require using mindfulness practices and getting expert assistance when necessary. Participating in fun and fulfilling activities can also improve resilience and general happiness. Students who adopt these techniques into their everyday routines can put their mental health first and succeed in all facets of life.
