Congratulations to Dr. Eric Jed A. Demecillo and Dr. Jeffrae Isaac Albert R. Damayo!

Dr. Demecillo published his paper, "Splenic Abscess in the Era of Minimally Invasive Surgery: A Case Report on a 37-year-old Male," in the prestigious Philippine Journal of Internal Medicine (PJIM). Dr. Damayo presented his paper, "Successful Delivery Via Cesarean Section in a 19-Year-Old Primigravid Patient with Severe Uncorrected Isolated Pulmonic Stenosis and Right-to-Left Interatrial Shunting: A Case Report" at the Heart Valve Society (HVS) 2025 Annual Meeting held in Cairo, Egypt, last April 16-19, 2025. This paper, written during his time as a Clinical Clerk at the Cebu Institute of Medicine, was developed in collaboration with his groupmates. We also recognize and appreciate the significant contributions of his co-authors.

In addition, we would also like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our residents for having their case reports accepted for e-poster presentation during the Philippine College of Physicians (P*P) 2025 Annual Convention held at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City last May 4-7, 2025.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Edward Louie Ignacio, for leading his team to victory at the 30th Philippine College of Physicians - Central Visayas Chapter Postgraduate Course Residents’ Inter-Hospital Debate, held on March 28, 2025, at the Casino Español. This marks the third consecutive year since the debates commenced in 2023 that Dr. Ignacio has led his team to triumph. Representing Team CVGH, alongside residents from CDUH, CCMC, CSMC, UCMed, and VMH, they prevailed against formidable contenders from the other hospitals and training institutions in Cebu. A huge congratulations to our very own, Dr. Edward Louie Ignacio and Dr. Eric Jed Demecillo, for their outstanding performance and securing the SECOND PLACE during the 2025 Dr. Adrian C. Peña P*P Regional Medical Quiz Bowl! 🏆

This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the guidance and support of their incredible coach, Dr. Shayne Julieane Morales and the CVGH training core.
