PAGASA has raised Tropical Storm “OPONG” Signal No. 1 in Cebu.

✅ Keep flashlights, batteries, and first-aid kits ready.
✅ Check on children, elderly, and loved ones.
✅ Stay updated only from official weather advisories.

Let us be reminded about the dangers of floodwater. Floods can carry water-borne diseases such as typhoid fever, cholera and leptospirosis. On the other hand, vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue and yellow fever might also increase due to standing water that serves as breeding sites for mosquitoes. Those who have open wounds have high chances of getting tetanus due to the exposure to bacteria in the water. Those who immerse themselves in floodwater may suffer from hypothermia.

Please be on guard. Take good care of yourselves. Please stay safe.
