𝐀𝐌𝐒𝐀-𝐖𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐄: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐅 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 🕊️🌊

It’s one of our proudest moments as we hit a milestone of 𝘼𝙈𝙎𝘼-𝘾𝙚𝙗𝙪 working together for the first time. In a historic show of solidarity, we raised about 𝟏𝟐𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐬 in funds for the victims of 𝙏𝙮𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙞𝙣𝙤. Thanks to the overwhelming support of our community, we were able to distribute packed meals to different areas severely hit in Cebu City, providing immediate relief to those who needed it most.

This massive effort proved that when our local chapters unite, our capacity to serve is limitless. Seeing our members work side-by-side to navigate the aftermath of the typhoon was the ultimate testament to what it means to be a service-oriented medical advocate.

𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝘼𝙈𝙎𝘼-𝙒𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙! 🌸✨

From international clinical exchanges and regional advocacy to local medical missions and sustainable campus initiatives, 2025 has been a year of growth, grit, and grace. We are incredibly proud of every Flower who bloomed with us this year, and we are so grateful for the partnerships that made our work possible.

We are looking forward to even more collaborations in 2026. Stay tuned, because a new year means new opportunities to serve—and our recruitment period is just around the corner! 💚

Looking back on 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟎, our Flowers, in the aftermath of 𝙏𝙮𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙞𝙣𝙤, our flowers headed to 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝙋𝙖𝙠𝙣𝙖𝙖𝙣, 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙪𝙚 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 for "𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮: 𝐀 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞,” a dedicated Leptospirosis Clinic providing free consultations and Leptospirosis prophylaxis (Doxycycline) to residents who had been exposed to floodwaters.

This massive effort was made possible through the leadership of the CVGH Department of Family and Community Medicine, whose guidance turned a community project into a remarkable success. We are also proud to have served alongside our fellow student advocates from 𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐇 and 𝐀𝐌𝐒𝐏, proving that we are always stronger when we work together.

On October 25, our Flowers traded their white coats for mud-ready gear! We were honored to join AMSA-SeNoM at SRP, Cebu for a meaningful day of Mangrove Planting, taking an active role in restoring our local coastal defenses.

A huge thank you to AMSA-SeNoM for inviting AMSA-SOMA to be part of this impactful day. We are proud to grow and serve alongside our fellow student advocates in the region! 🌸💚

Rewinding to 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟗, our Flowers headed to 𝘾𝙤𝙩-𝘾𝙤𝙩, 𝙇𝙞𝙡𝙤𝙖𝙣 for a day of community service and clinical immersion. This medical mission was held under the guidance of 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐊𝐚, focusing on providing essential healthcare and consultations to the local residents. 🥼🩺

𝘞𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘖𝘙𝘊𝘏🔥, reinforcing the spirit of collaboration and solidarity within our student medical community.

This day of outreach remains a significant highlight of our year, showcasing the heart of service that defines AMSA-SOMA 🌸

On 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟓, we officially launched 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐭 🌷, dedicated to promoting comfort and care within our community. By setting up free sanitary napkin trays in female restrooms, we aimed to make period essentials available exactly when they are needed most. 🌸

We believe no one should have to worry or whisper during a period emergency, and Project Periodt was our way of making hygiene more accessible, supportive, and entirely stigma-free 💗

𝓢𝓶𝓪𝓵𝓵 𝓑𝓸𝓽𝓼, 𝓑𝓲𝓰 𝓘𝓶𝓹𝓪𝓬𝓽! 🌍♻️

Continuing our trip down memory lane, we’re revisiting 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐬 💧—our initiative to make sustainability a campus-wide habit, headed by our 𝙎𝘾𝙊𝙋𝙃-𝙀𝙃.

We believe that caring for the planet is just as important as caring for our patients. To make recycling easier for everyone, we placed designated AMSA-SOMA bins in high-traffic spots across the campus:

🌿 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 (near the vending machine)
🌿 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫 (by the toilets)
🌿 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫 (outside the anatomy lab)

We hit reset with a week full of wellness last 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 .From pouring your hearts out on the 𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙡 ✊ to finding out your flow in the 𝙔𝙤𝙜𝙖 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 🧘, we made self-care the priority. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the 𝘼𝙢𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙞-𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙞 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚 ☔️ and snagged free loot bags filled with love from your AMSA-SOMA family!

On 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐, we took our advocacy to 𝘿𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙟𝙪𝙜, 𝘾𝙚𝙗𝙪 for the 𝐊𝐚𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡👐 , a comprehensive medical mission aimed at providing essential health services to our community.

Organized by our friends at 𝙍𝘼𝙁𝙄 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚, our Flowers spent the day assisting in consultations, health screenings, and medical distributions, learning firsthand what it means to be a companion in health and wellness. 🩺🥼
