Breast Cancer Awareness Month is one of the key annual opportunities to raise awareness on breast cancer, promote early detection, hear patient’s stories, address breast cancer stigma, and engage the broader public.

Since the year 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic, breast cancer groups have had to rethink their Pink October campaigns and increase their virtual presence. Through innovative interventions, campaigns and messaging, they showed that public health promotion can take various forms and generate a strong impact on access to breast cancer health. Thus, the CCMC-SWUMC consortium, department of Surgery has laid down activities through online platforms with the goal of engaging the public via virtual campaign and dialogue to inspire ideas and share lessons learnt from this pandemic and to make the most of the Breast Cancer Awareness month.
