MAGSINGAL DECLARED DRUG-CLEARED

On July 29, 2025, the Municipality of Magsingal, Ilocos Sur was officially declared Drug-Cleared during a deliberation by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) held at NSCC Stella Mariz Hotel, Cabugao.

The activity was led by PDEA RO1 Regional Director Atty. Benjamin G. Gaspi, together with ROCBDC members from the DILG, DOH, PNP, and PADAC. Bokal Art Oandasan, Chairman of the Committee on Dangerous Drugs, represented the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur.

Mayor Victoria Ina P. Favis and the MADAC team presented Magsingal’s anti-drug efforts, leading to the committee’s approval.

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, led by Governor Jerry Singson, held the Siglat Gobierno Probinsial on July 30, 2025, at the CHAVIT Coliseum in Vigan City.

Over 11,000 Ilocanos received free services in health, education, agriculture, and livelihood from PGIS offices and partner agencies.

Bokal Art Oandasan joined local officials in supporting the government’s effort to make public service more accessible.

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), provided immediate relief assistance to families affected by Tropical Storm Crising in Vigan City.

Bokal Art Oandasan and Bokal Third Ranches, together with personnel from PDRRMO, PSWDO, and DSWD, led the distribution of family food packs, hygiene kits, and sleeping kits to the affected communities.

On July 2, 2025, the Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital – Gabriela Silang marked a significant milestone with the blessing and inauguration of its newest health facilities: the Ilocos Sur Quality Assurance Laboratory, Clinical Bacteriology Laboratory, Hospital Isolation Facility, Mammography Screening Unit, Heart Station, and Oncology Unit.

Joining the event were Governor Jerry Singson,
SPM Art Oandasan, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Trina Talaga, ISPH-GS Chief of Hospital Dr. Pocholo Baquiran, and former Provincial Health Officer Dr. Carmeliza Singson.

Ilocos Sur Strengthens Barangay Drug-Clearing Operations

In line with the national government’s campaign against illegal drugs, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur conducted a Training of Trainers on July 3, 2025 at the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center, Vigan City.

The training equipped LGOOs, health officers, ADAC, and PNP BDCP focal persons with essential knowledge on BDCP implementation, including documentation, assessment, and on-site validation of drug-cleared barangays.

Present during the activity were Governor Jerry Singson, SPM Art Constantine Oandasan, DILG PD Randy Dela Rosa, and PDEA Ilocos Sur Officer IA III Jerico C. Inocencio.
