On July 2, 2025, the Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital – Gabriela Silang marked a significant milestone with the blessing and inauguration of its newest health facilities: the Ilocos Sur Quality Assurance Laboratory, Clinical Bacteriology Laboratory, Hospital Isolation Facility, Mammography Screening Unit, Heart Station, and Oncology Unit.

Joining the event were Governor Jerry Singson,
SPM Art Oandasan, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Trina Talaga, ISPH-GS Chief of Hospital Dr. Pocholo Baquiran, and former Provincial Health Officer Dr. Carmeliza Singson.

Ilocos Sur Strengthens Barangay Drug-Clearing Operations

In line with the national government’s campaign against illegal drugs, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur conducted a Training of Trainers on July 3, 2025 at the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center, Vigan City.

The training equipped LGOOs, health officers, ADAC, and PNP BDCP focal persons with essential knowledge on BDCP implementation, including documentation, assessment, and on-site validation of drug-cleared barangays.

Present during the activity were Governor Jerry Singson, SPM Art Constantine Oandasan, DILG PD Randy Dela Rosa, and PDEA Ilocos Sur Officer IA III Jerico C. Inocencio.

Moving Together Toward a Healthier Ilocos Sur

On June 19, 2025, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, led by Governor Jerry Singson, inaugurated two new wellness facilities in Bantay ,the Ilocos Sur Badminton Center at Quirino Stadium and the first-ever Inclusive Therapeutic Playground at Bicentennial Park.

These projects promote active living, healing, and inclusivity for all Ilocanos, from athletes to children with diverse needs.

Joining the event were Board Members Art Oandasan, Third Ranches, Atty. Jannah Singson, Provincial Sports Coordinator Jonathan Pugrad, and other PGIS officials.

📣 Call for NasiSIGLAT nga Ilocos Surians!

The Ilocos Sur SIGLAT Festival 2025 is set to be a celebration of the outstanding achievements, skills, and academic excellence of students and educators throughout the province. This event is proudly presented by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur.

One of the highlights of this festival is the SIGLAT Iskwela Awards Program through the Provincial Education and Scholarship Affairs Office. Hence, we are calling those who achieved Top 1-10 in the Bar Examination, Physician Licensure Examination, or any National Licensure Examination, as well as students and teachers who proudly represented Ilocos Sur and secured 1st to 3rd place (individual or group) in regional, national, or international academic and skills competitions/events.

Healing Through Music, Caring for the Mind!

SPM Art Constantine Oandasan was honored to be part of the launching of the Music Therapy Hub last June 20, 2025, at the CFAD Building, UNP.

This meaningful project, led by Dr. Daune Alden Oandasan and Dr. Ashley Paulino Martinez, offers a safe and relaxing space for students and staff to unwind, play instruments, learn music, and connect with others.

Adda met dagiti libre a music tutorials ken group sessions, amin para iti mental health ken emotional well-being.
