Alam mo ba na kahit isang beses ka lang lumusong sa baha ay maaari ka nang mahawa ng leptospirosis? Isa itong seryosong sakit na nanggagaling sa ihi ng mga hayop tulad ng daga na humahalo sa baha o kontaminadong tubig.

Kahit wala kang sugat, hindi ka pa rin ligtas. Mas mataas ang panganib kung may galos ka, o kung nakalunok ka ng tubig-baha. At kung paulit-ulit kang lumulusong o lumalangoy sa baha — mas mataas ang tsansa mong magkasakit.

Kaya mahalagang malaman kung kailan ka dapat uminom ng Doxycycline at kung gaano karaming araw ito dapat inumin — depende sa exposure mo sa baha.
Pero tandaan: HINDI ito 100% panlaban! Hindi sapat ang gamot kung patuloy pa rin tayong lumulusong nang walang pag-iingat.

Lalo na sa mga buntis, nagpapasuso, at mga batang 8 years old pababa — bawal ang doxycycline sa inyo.

Kaya kung hindi mo talaga maiiwasang lumusong sa baha, kumonsulta agad sa doktor para malaman kung kailangan mo ng gamot at kung paano ito iinumin nang tama.

Protektahan ang sarili, ang pamilya, at ang komunidad. Iwasan ang baha kung kaya. Alamin ang tamang kaalaman para makaiwas sa leptospirosis.
