⚠️ RED FLAGS TO WATCH OUT FOR IN CHILDREN’S THERAPY CLINICS ⚠️
A gentle reminder to our dear parents
As parents, we always want the best for our children—especially when it comes to their therapy and development. Recently, we’ve observed some concerning practices in certain clinics, and we feel it’s our duty to help you stay informed. Here are some red flags to be mindful of when choosing a therapy provider:
🔴 “One-size-fits-all” sessions
If every child gets the same activity or routine every session, your child may not be receiving a personalized program suited to their needs.
🔴 No proper credentials or licenses
Therapists or Teachers should be licensed professionals. If they can’t show their PRC license or relevant certification, proceed with caution.
🔴 Instant results promised
Statements like “Your child will improve in just one week!” are red flags. Therapy is a process that requires consistency and patience.
🔴 Frequent therapist changes
If therapists are constantly changing or absent, your child’s development and rapport may be affected. The therapist ‘Evaluating the child must also be the one giving the sessions.
🔴 No regular or too long progress updates
Parents should be part of the process. If the clinic avoids or postpones or if it takes a long time to give a feedback or reports, that’s a concern.
🔴 Aggressive recruitment
A clinic that offers services that ‘leaves you no choice ‘ or in a pushy way should raise concerns about their ethics.
🔴 Overly long sessions or unrealistic playgroup promises
Promises like “we’ll handle everything”including cleaning up after p**p and p*e, or offering extended hours beyond what’s developmentally appropriate.
Kids need rhythm, rest, and gentle guidance, not overexposure or exhaustion.
🔴 Group sessions without your knowledge
DYAD, TRIAD or Group sessions is always done with a common goal and grouped with kids with similar skills. Most importantly we will need consent from the parents.
Always check: SECRETLY placing 2 or more kids in the same time slot to save on costs and maximize income, without asking for parent consent. Your child deserves the time and focus you are paying for.
💬 Always trust your instincts. Ask questions.
Your child deserves care that is ethical, compassionate, and truly beneficial. Let’s work together to protect our children’s well-being and raise awareness in our parenting community.
