Kauswagan Community Clinic and Social Center At present, the center operates as out-patient and caters to all neighboring rural and depress rural areas of the Municipality of Consolacion CEO 1521.

“Kauswagan” - is a Visayan term which means “progress” of “development”. It was established in 1979 as a primary hospital and served as the community outreach program of Cebu Doctors; University, (then) College. Formerly located in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City, 8 kilometers away from the city. It was a 20-bed capacity primary hospital where daily consultations and treatment are done for free. Cases which need confinement are admitted and managed within the capacity of a primary hospital with a minimal charge. Students and Interns of Cebu Doctors’ University are exposed to this rural medical care where they served as a part of their Internship rotation and other students for community extension services. On May 12, 1988, Kauswagan Community Hospital was then registered as Kauswagan Community Hospital was then registered as Kauswagan Commuinty Social Center Inc. with SEC Registration No. On November 16, 2000, Kauswagan was relocated to Barangay Cabangahan, Consolacion since it’s old location in Talamban was converted to NORTH GENERAL HOSPITAL.
