School-Based Immunization Launching 2025 πππ
Despite the heat, it was a fulfilling and meaningful day as we officially launched the School-Based Immunization Program in the Municipality of Cordon!
The event began with a solemn invocation, followed by a warm welcome message from Maβam Lilia Salguet, OIC of Cordon South Central School. We also heard inspiring messages from Maβam Charlita Mariano, our SB on Health followed Nurse Levy Aguilar, who gave an orientation on the Measles-Rubella (MR) and Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td)vaccines while Dr. Loudette Navarro, discussed the HPV vaccine. And a very special moment with Dr. Judith Olay-Alacar, one of Cordonβs distinguished pediatricians, who shared the importance of vaccines and gave a brief yet impactful discussion on each.
The highlight of the morning was a simultaneous ceremonial vaccination of Grade 1 and Grade 4 student volunteers β a strong symbol of our united efforts to protect our youth!
In the afternoon, we were warmly welcomed by OIC Farjana Cacal of Capirpiriwan Elementary School. A heartfelt welcome message was delivered by Kagawad on Health, Mr. Loreto Esperanzate, followed by another motivating message from our SB on Health, and a brief vaccine orientation.
Another ceremonial vaccination was conducted, joined by student volunteers and cheered on by proud parents and teachers.
Our deepest gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Cordon, led by Mayor Florenz M. Zuniega and Vice Mayor Lynn Zuniega-Dy, and SB Charlita Mariano for their unwavering support to all DOH programs. VM Lynn also graced the Capirpiriwan session, encouraging parents to have their children protected through vaccines.
A heartfelt thank you to our BNS, BHWs, nurses, and midwives for their hard work in making this launch a success β and to the parents, teachers, and students for your active participation.
We would like to thank and acknowledge the presence of our DepEd Nurses, Maβam Mellowin Leano and Sirikit Joy fernandez
and our DOH School NDP Clarisse Domingo for their help, assistance, and unwavering support were truly instrumental in the smooth conduct of the activities.
π The Rural Health Unit is targeting 100% coverage for MR, Td, and HPV vaccines. A series of vaccinations will continue at respective catchment areas in the coming weeks.
