To support and strengthen regional research and development, the Ministry of Science and Technology conducted a series of evaluations on different research proposals this year.

On August 16, 2022, the MOST R&D Committee evaluated Dr. Norodin Kuit's research proposal on Upgrading Native Chicken in BARMM held at the ministry's conference room.

Dr. Kuit presented his research proposal, and after a thorough evaluation and discussion, the ministry is strongly considering the funding of the research proposal.

After the finalization of the project, such as preparing the line item budget, and other financial considerations, there will be a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing based on the process of the MOST R&D Fund in relation to funds downloading.

The 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 improved its 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 through a series of meetings and discussions with the top management.

On August 17, 2022, the meeting aims to review the existing SPMS of the ministry and enhance it, present the composition of the performance management team, discuss the differences between Office Performance and Commitment Review, Division Performance and Commitment Review, and Individual Performance and Commitment Review, and revisit the existing OPCR.

Each Office, division, section, and individual employee of the ministry are expected to create and fill out their performance and commitment review form to be evaluated by top management accordingly. The OPCR, DPCR, and IPCR are expected to be accomplished twice at the end of July and December of the same year.

Also, the Office's overall performance will be evaluated by the Ministry Performance and Commitment Review. Along with this is the creation of major final outputs, discussed the success indicators, accountable employees, and delineated functions of the Regional Office and provincial centers.

The performance management team discussed and improved the creation of the SPMS and the creation of the SPMS calendar for implementation.

Furthermore, the Civil Service Commission – BARMM has approved the MOST’s SPMS and requires the latter to submit the requirements to implement the said program.

The performance and commitment review tools evaluate the commitments to attaining office goals, objectives, and accomplishments at the end of the rating period. These assessment tools will also serve as the basis to provide incentives to performing employees and use proper support to improve poor performance, thereby motivating employees to excel in their respective assigned tasks.

The RxBox 1000 Project Regional Management Team of the Ministry of Science and Technology successfully conducted "Onsite Super Users Training" at the selected Rural Health facilities of Lanao del sur province last June 13 to 30, 2022.

The beneficiaries from Marawi City Health Office (CHO), Saguiaran RHU, Tugaya RHU, Bubong RHU, Ditsaan-Ramain RHU, Mulondo RHU, Maguing RHU, Taraka RHU, Tamparan RHU, Poona Bayabao RHU, Lumba Bayabao RHU, Masiu RHU, Lumbatan RHU, Butig RHU, Marantao RHU, Balindong RHU, Tugaya RHU, Madalum RHU, Ganassi RHU, Bayang RHU, Picong RHU, Marogong RHU, Wao RHU, and Amai Manabilang RHU.

The RxBox is a multi-component program that captures real-time health data from the patients. It composes of medical sensors such;

✔️Blood Pressure Monitor
✔️Pulse Oximeter
✔️Electrocardiogram (ECG)
✔️Fetal Heart Monitor
✔️Maternal Tocometer &
✔️Temperature Sensor connected to a touch-screen tablet.

The touch-screen tablet is programmed to collect patient's health data from the built-in medical sensors attached to the device. The health data appears real-time on the tablet screen once a patient is being examined through the sensors, hence the real quality life experience in a box in clinically helping the community clients to provide better access quality of life delivering advance healthcare technologies in the Geographically isolated and disadvantage areas in BARMM.

ATM: RxBox Clinical Acceptance Test (CAT) with UP Manila National Telehealth Center Training Officer and RxBox MOST-BARMM project staff.

Re-testing of the first batch of RxBox telemedicine devices capturing Vital Signs such as Temperature, Oxygen Saturation, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Electrocardiogram (ECG),Fetal Heart Rate, & mother's Uterine contraction.

Soon to be deployed at the Selected Rural Health Units in BARMM Region.

"Roll-out of 1000 RxBox Telehealth Device in Selected Rural Health Centers in the Philippines".

•Procurement of 1000 RxBox devices
•Selection of RxBox recipients
•Deployment of devices including training of RxBox recipients on the use of RxBox device (4 Medical Health professional from each RHU's).
•Monitoring (RxDetec) and issues resolution.

UP Manila National Telehealth Center (UPM-NTHC) is the Technology owner.
