With the national theme βSa Bagong Pilipinas, Kalusugan ay Pinapahalagahan, Droga ay Iniiwasanβ in celebration of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week 2025, the Dangerous Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program - Cotabato City Health Office, led by Joannah Ruffa B. Mangelen, RN, successfully gathered partner agencies, stakeholders, and advocates in a united stand against drug abuse and illicit substance use.
This celebration was held on November 20, 2025 at the Conference Room, CityMall Cotabato.
Participants from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Barangay Health Workers, and youth representatives actively joined the meaningful engagement, highlighting that community involvement remains vital in safeguarding public health and safety.
A learning session was also conducted with the Acting Director of the School of Health Sciences - UP Tarlac, Prof. Joel A. Valencia, RN, RM, MAN, LPT, MAGC, RGC, BSM who discussed βUnderstanding Drug Abuse: Fundamental to its Prevention and Identifying Significant Community Roles,β providing deeper awareness and empowering communities to take part in prevention efforts.
To amplify advocacy through arts, the βColors of Hope: Painting Contestβ was held, with seven talented participants showcasing artworks inspired by this yearβs theme.
