We were deeply saddened to hear the passing of Prof. Moner M. Bajunaid. He touched our lives with his warmth and kindness during his visit at Lola Weng Center. His presence will be greatly missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.
May Allah SWT grant Bapa Moner the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus. 🤲
The Mindanao State University expresses our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues of Prof. Moner M. Bajunaid, the 3rd Chancellor of MSU General Santos who served with distinction from 1990 to 1995. His leadership, vision, and commitment to educational excellence set a standard for future generations.
Prof. Moner M. Bajunaid was a distinguished graduate of Business Administration, majoring in Economics, from the Philippine School of Business Administration in Manila. He obtained a Certificate in Islamic and Arabic Studies from Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, and pursued further studies in Economics at Cairo University. Prof. Bajunaid also earned a master's equivalent in Islamic Studies (Usuluddin) from the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Pakistan.
In 1986, Prof. Bajunaid began his academic career as a lecturer at the National Institute for English Language and Professional Studies in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. From 2010 to 2012, he served as a Commissioner at the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF). At the time of his passing, he was the Secretary General of the National Ulama Cooperation of the Philippines (NUCP).
Prof. Bajunaid's profound contributions to education and his dedicated service to the community will be remembered and cherished. May you rest in peace, Chancellor Bajunaid.
