We can see the dedication and participation of the students presenting the importance of health as an awareness and reminder to take care of it, especially in these times.

Improving Social Skills, these kinds of social skills activities make being a kid much more enjoyable, by doing turn takings, dancing, drawing and following the instructions given by their teachers, these can contribute a lot on their individual’s development. This can make making friends their age, as well as getting along with others, both children their age and adults, a more positive experience for everyone involved. St. Jude Therapy Center wants to provide a quality treatment program for children with autism and other developmental conditions using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in the province of Camarines Norte. That is why we are grateful to have a behavior analyst consultant Mr. Robin P. Vergara, BCaBA, IBA, QBA. Who is equipped with knowledge and skills in the field of ABA, because he has been in the field of ABA for about 13 years and he also a medical director of a pediatric rehabilitation in Dubai UAE. The skills and knowledge that he shared to us will be a big help, for us to provide an accurate and significant progress in our clients.

Describing Simultaneous Event
In this activity we are likely to enhance the child’s vocabulary and language specifically with the use of prepositions correctly. With the help of positive reinforcement, using transfer trials and token economy it can help to provide a positive behavior, a behavior momentum while doing the task and also it will have a higher possibility that the child will not engage to any maladaptive or challenging behavior during the teaching session.

This activity also enhances the child’s language acquisition by the help of environmental factors, by this activity the child is being able to enhance her sentence construction, and make a compound sentence with the proper use of prepositions and conjunctions.

What are fine motor skills?
Fine motor skills are the small, precise movements we make with our hands and fingers. They involve the complex coordination of your muscles, joints and nerves.
We use wrist and finger movements when it comes to fine motor skills, like picking up an object by pinching it with your pointer finger and thumb.
Fine motor control is a complex process that requires:
• Awareness and planning.
• Coordination.
• Muscle strength.
• Normal sensation in your hands and fingers (or feet and toes).
• Precision (dexterity).

In celebration of Autism Consciousness Week

St. Jude Therapy Center conducted a seminar with the theme “Applied Behavior Analysis; A Parent and Teacher’s Guide” last January 25, 2024 (Saturday) in this seminar that was being supervised by our behavior analyst Mr. Robin Vergara and being presented by our lead behavior interventionist Mr. Mark Ryan Capsa, he discussed about how does the challenging behavior is being occur and develop on its worst and how the parents and guardians address the problematic behavior and teaching their child the alternative behavior that is socially significant.

We would like to thank all the parents who participated in this event and share their experiences on how they handle their child and how the seminar helps to them with regards to their child’s behavior.
