What a year it was! I ended it as a busy day at home preparing for the coming New Year's Eve, then come my calls from ICU for a coding 12y/o beautiful young lady who didn't make it after more than 48 hours of fighting for her life with the help of a mechanical ventilator. I signed a blue form , if i remember it right, my only for this year. Had to rush to another hospital for another patient waiting in an isolation room, whose parents r rushing to reach home before new year's eve, thankfully discharged home well. Another 2 patients waiting at the emergency room for evaluation, had to see them before going to mass. While we were attending mass, i got a call that our patient on labor is fully, got to leave after d offertory. Upon reaching d labor room, it's a false alarm, only 7cm dilated. We went back to the church, we arrived at final blessing, i just prayed for God's understanding , forgiveness n blessings inspite of. We met our children outside the church n went home together. We had time to eat n took pictures around our dining table then come 12 midnight. While they enjoy watching fireworks, i stayed at home in silent prayers. After almost 30 minutes of noise n firecrackers, we rushed to d hospital to attend to the baby her mother is about to bring out to this beautiful world. At last, we received a bouncing baby boy, the family's first born. And i finally said to myself, indeed in life, when somebody goes away, another one arrives too🙏 Indeed, we are just passing through in this world🙏 Since we are energetic, we made rounds in another hospital past 2am n met our jolly nurses🤩 i also witnessed relatives of admitted patients patiently waiting, while others just brought their patients to the emergency room. I felt emotional again, while others are in festive mood, others are battling for their lives😪 reached home before 3am, only one child was awake, the other 3 are soundly asleep already😴 Said a little prayer again before settling on bed 🙏...around 7am, i thank the Lord i'm awake again🙏 thankful n ready for 2024🙏💪🏻💝💝💝💪🏻🙏
