Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital successfully culminated its National Women’s Month celebration through a Women’s Health Forum held on March 31, 2026, at the 2nd Floor Adolescent Center Activity Area.

The activity aimed to empower women by promoting awareness and education on key health and social concerns that affect their lives.

Dr. Teoness Joy Dipolog, Medical Specialist II part time from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, delivered an insightful discussion on Sexual and Reproductive Health for Women. Her presentation provided essential information to help women make informed decisions about their health and overall well being.

Ms. Katrina Lou Dinapo, Project Development Officer II under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, led a meaningful discussion on Gender Based Violence. This is a critical issue that must be addressed to ensure the safety, dignity, and protection of all women. She shared her experience in handling GBV cases, discussed prevention efforts in place, and emphasized the important role of healthcare workers in identifying and reporting suspected abuse. She strongly highlighted that no one deserves abuse.

In addition, Ms. Dinapo facilitated an engaging self care activity for women, highlighting the importance of nurturing physical, emotional, and mental well being. She also shared practical tips on basic skincare and makeup application, encouraging participants to practice self love and build confidence.

In her closing message, Dr. Maria Dinna C. Viray PariΓ±as, Medical Center Chief II, highlighted the vital role of women in society. As a woman leader, she underscored the significant contributions of women in DJRMH, where the majority of the workforce is composed of women who continuously deliver compassionate and efficient healthcare services. She further emphasized that the recognition and empowerment of women should extend beyond the month of March.

The DJRMH GAD Focal Point System and the Public Health Unit Health Education and Promotion Office expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the strong support throughout the month long celebration.

It is indeed a Happy National Women’s Month. πŸ’œ

Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital (DJRMH) observed the 22nd Women with Disabilities Day with the theme β€œLandas ng Makabagong Babaylan: Pantay, Inklusibo, at Lahat May Kakayahan” on March 30, 2026, at the DJRMH Outpatient Department (OPD) Waiting Area.

As part of the National Women’s Month celebration, the activity aimed to recognize and honor the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women with disabilities in our communities.

Women with disabilities include individuals who experience limitations due to physical, psychosocial, intellectual, or sensory impairments, whether visible or not. This covers a wide range of conditions, including mobility impairments such as wheelchair use, visual or hearing impairments, intellectual or developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and chronic illnesses that affect daily life.

Their rights are upheld and protected under Republic Act 7277, also known as the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons, and Republic Act 9710, or the Magna Carta of Women, which promote equal opportunities, inclusion, and empowerment.

During the activity, Ms. Hazel Paler, Social Welfare Officer III and DJRMH Gender and Development Focal Point Person, discussed the services and support available for women with disabilities. She emphasized that the DJRMH Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System ensures the proper implementation of these laws and facilitates access to appropriate benefits and services.
This observance highlights DJRMH’s continued commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and empowering environment for all.
