| BRHMC Health Caravan Team – Day 3 Wrap-Up
The Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC) Health Caravan Team successfully concluded its three-day medical mission on July 24, 2025, at the Juan M. Alberto (JMA) Memorial District Hospital in San Andres, Catanduanes. This outreach marks another meaningful milestone in BRHMC’s ongoing commitment to bring compassionate, accessible healthcare to the communities of the “Happy Island.”
From July 21 to 24, a total of 486 patients received a wide array of free medical services, including:
• Kilatis Kutis (Derma Consultations)
• Mental Health Services
• Surgical Procedures (Excision, Herniorrhaphy, Surgical Consults)
• Family Planning Services (BTL, PSI & IUD Insertion, Counseling)
• OB-Gyne Consultation
• Cancer Screening and Treatment (VIA and Thermal Ablation)
• Dental Services(Extraction, Consultations, Prophylaxis, Fluoride Application, Fillings)
• HIV Counseling and Screening
Dr. Raoul Emmanuel O. Zantua, Head of the BRHMC Public Health Unit, emphasized a longstanding partnership with Catanduanes, highlighting that this annual health mission has been ongoing for over a decade. “We remain deeply committed to serving the Catandunganons and strengthening our presence in the island,” he shared.
In a similar spirit, Dr. Renee Myla A. Balang, Head of the BRHMC Bicol Cancer Center, announced the forthcoming opening of the Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS) Center in Virac. She noted that BRHMC aims to establish Catanduanes as a pilot province for innovative and responsive cancer care, reinforcing its role as a regional leader in oncology services.
