FYI:

The CDCDC (Cavite-De La Salle COVID-19 Diagnostic Center) operates under strict compliance with its standard operating procedures (SOP) approved by the Department of Health (DOH) and by the guidelines set by the manufacturer of the Rt-PCR machines and test kits that we are using. To ensure the credibility of our results, daily disinfection and decontamination are done, and double controls are ran with each template. The result of any Rt-PCR test depends on YOUR STATUS AT THE TIME YOU WERE TESTED. Ct (Cycle threshold) values in Rt-PCR tests is used to determine if a person is COVID-19 positive or negative. Like most laboratory results, your Ct value falls within a range. If your Ct value falls at the borderline of a positive range, it will still be declared as positive. In such a case, if you have a borderline result and you are tested a day or two days later, a negative result may be obtained. In other words, two different results taken at two different times is possible, especially if the Ct values are borderline. This just reflects the transition of your status from positive to negative. In addition, different laboratories follow different Ct values and cut-offs depending on the test kits and methods that they use and the laboratory’s SOP. We enjoin everyone to continue to observe the health protocols to protect ourselves and others from the COVID-19 virus.
