This year’s Global Health Awareness celebration is a year-long campaign focusing maternal and newborn health—a critical step to reduce the alarming rates of maternal mortality, especially in regions like Latin America, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia, where the Philippines ranks among one of the highest in maternal deaths.

The goal is actually simple but powerful: a healthy mother means a healthy baby—and hence, a healthier family.

Specifically the objectives of the campaign are:
•Raise awareness about gaps in maternal and newborn survival.
•Advocate for effective investments to improve health outcomes.
•Encourage collective action supporting parents and healthcare providers.
•Provide health information related to pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care.

With these objectives, let’s raise awareness and support women at every stage of motherhood.
