CHLOE’S REAL BATTLE ❤️‍🩹

When Chloe came to Petology, she was feverish, low-energy, and had severe facial swelling. Her furparents had already visited TWO CLINICS but treatment wasn’t possible until she came to us for specialized care.

What seemed like a simple eye issue turned out to be far more serious, a large, maggot-infested wound. 😢 Her right eye was no longer viable, and surrounding tissue was badly damaged. Based on maggot size, the wound had likely been festering for about two weeks, HIDDEN UNDER HER FUR.

To fully assess her condition, Doc Steph ran blood tests to check for complications that could affect her healing.

Chloe’s Final Diagnosis:
🐛 Facial myiasis
🩸 Blood parasitism
🤕 Acute kidney injury

Doc Steph immediately began maggot removal and daily wound cleaning. Due to Chloe’s age, a gentler parasite treatment was used. SURGERY was planned to remove the damaged tissue and possibly perform enucleation (complete eye removal).

But Chloe surprised us. 👏🏻 The night before surgery, Doc Steph noticed significant improvement, LESS swelling and HEALTHIER tissue! With this progress, the team decided to CANCEL the surgery and shifted to second intention healing (natural healing with medical support). 😊

Chloe then underwent a few sessions of laser therapy and advanced wound care, which helped accelerate recovery. She responded SO WELL that therapy was completed after just a few sessions! 💚

We’re grateful to Chloe’s furparents for their trust and cooperation, and incredibly PROUD of Doc Steph, who carefully adapted and adjusted Chloe’s treatment every step of the way.

Chloe’s recovery is a true reflection of expert care guided by heart. 🥰

It wasn't just big, it was HUGE! 🤯

What started as FREQUENT URINATION and FOUL-SMELLING, BLOODY URINE turned out to be something much more serious for Celine, a 2-year-old Shih Tzu. 🐶

Despite being active and having a good appetite, her symptoms pointed to more than just a simple infection. She had actually been diagnosed with urinary stones as early as September last year at another clinic. But this time, her condition had clearly progressed, leading her family to seek further care here at Petology.

Our veterinary team immediately performed several diagnostic tests, including:
🔬 Complete Blood Count (CBC)
🩸 Blood Chemistry
📸 Ultrasound
🩻 X-ray

The results revealed:
💡 Cystitis secondary to Cystolithiasis — inflammation of the bladder due to urinary stones

Surgery was clearly the best option, but it wasn’t easy. During the procedure, the team discovered that the stone was significantly bigger than a 20-peso coin, a MASSIVE size for a small dog like Celine. 😢

It had been causing severe irritation and trauma to her bladder, making the surgery extra delicate, challenging, and very bloody.

Post-op, Celine experienced persistent bleeding, so she was placed under close monitoring… but just 10 hours later, her urine turned yellow again! 💛 No more blood, no more clots, and she was back to eating and drinking well. 🙌🏼💧

What a turnaround for Celine! With Doc Rose leading the case, she’s now healing well and looking forward to the joyful, pain-free life she deserves. 🐶💛
