Empowering Mothers Through Care and Knowledge 💜

In celebration of Women’s Health Month, the Physical Therapy Department of Dasmariñas City Medical Center (DCMC) will launch a hospital-wide awareness initiative on March 17 to promote the health and well-being of pregnant and postpartum women.

Pregnancy and the postpartum period bring many physical changes that may cause conditions such as low back pain, pelvic discomfort, swelling, postural changes, and general weakness. While these experiences are common, they are not something mothers have to endure without proper support. With guidance from Physical Therapy, mothers can receive safe, evidence-based care to improve comfort, function, and recovery.

As part of this initiative, the following activities will be conducted:
• Distribution of educational pamphlets at the OB Section and Outpatient Department (OPD).
• Information dissemination through the hospital’s official social media platforms.
• Optional basic musculoskeletal screening for pregnant and postpartum patients (subject to approval and scheduling).

Through this campaign, DCMC continues to strengthen patient education, encourage early care, and promote holistic women’s healthcare for every mother.

Ayon sa DOH at WHO, cardiovascular diseases (mga sakit sa puso at blood vessels) ay kabilang sa leading causes of death sa Pilipinas, at malaking bahagi ito ng deaths related to noncommunicable diseases. That is why early checks matter, especially if you have risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, or family history.

Good news: DCMC Heart Station offers key heart and circulation tests that your doctor may request depending on your symptoms and risk profile, including 2D Echo, ABPM (24-hour BP monitoring), Holter Monitoring, Carotid Duplex Scan, and AV Duplex Scan. These tests help doctors assess heart function, blood pressure patterns, heart rhythm, and blood flow.
