Rainy season is here, but don’t let W.I.L.D. diseases catch you off guard! ☔
The Department of Health reminds us to watch out for:
W - Water and food-borne illnesses
I - Influenza-like diseases
L - Leptospirosis
D - Dengue
These health risks spike during the wet months, but they’re preventable. Stay dry and safe by following these rainy season health tips!
✅Avoid direct contact with persons who are sick, and regularly wash your hands with soap and water
✅Clear out potential mosquito breeding grounds. Follow DOH's "4T" habit: Taob, Taktak, Tuyo, and Takip, which mainly involves flipping containers, emptying containers with stagnant water, keeping your surroundings dry, and covering water storage
✅Avoid walking on flood waters or if unavoidable, wear proper rain gear, and cover any open cuts or scratches with waterproof dressings if you have wounds
✅If you walked on flood waters, immediately take a bath or wash the exposed area with soap and water
✅Ensure access to clean drinking water
