MUNICIPAL HEALTH OFFICE OF PALIMBANG
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
The Municipal Health Office of Palimbang joins the entire community in mourning the heartbreaking loss of a 2 years old female child who passed away on February 4, 2026. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones, and we share in their pain during this profoundly difficult time. No words can fully ease the sorrow of losing a child, and our thoughts and prayers remain with the family.
We understand and respect the concerns raised by the child’s mother regarding a possible link to the Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine. At this time, however, the cause of death has not yet been determined. A careful and thorough investigation is currently underway, led by the Municipal Epidemiology Surveillance Unit in coordination with the Provincial and Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Units, to ensure that all facts are properly examined with transparency, sensitivity, and adherence to established medical protocols.
The Municipal Health Office of Palimbang assures the public that the safety and well-being of every child is our highest priority. The MR vaccine has been used for many years and has protected millions of children worldwide from life-threatening diseases such as measles and rubella. While the investigation continues, we remain committed to providing accurate information based on science and verified findings.
In this time of grief, the Local Government Unit of Palimbang has extended support to the bereaved family, and we will continue to ensure they receive the care, respect, and compassion they deserve.
We gently ask the public to refrain from spreading unverified information or speculation, especially on social media, as this may unintentionally cause fear and distress among parents and caregivers. We encourage everyone to rely on official updates from the Municipal Health Office of Palimbang and authorized health offices.
Let us move forward as a community with empathy, unity, and trust, placing the health and safety of our children above all else. Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit their nearest vaccination site to protect eligible children through the ongoing MR Supplemental Immunization Activity, as measles and rubella continue to pose risks within our communities.
