Wrapping with purpose and teamwork!

Today, August 14,2025 , the School of Nursing gathered with the Nursing Council headed by Dean Jocelyn A. Cataraja, RN,MAN together with our dedicated representative Clinical Instructors Josephine Magno, RN, MN; Amie Agujetas, RN; Vanessa Ayuba, RN ; DJ Orias, RN, MAN; Junjune Gauran, RN to evaluate our Annual Operation Plan and continue planning for the year ahead.

The session was a meaningful exchange of ideas, perspectives , and strategies— all anchored on one shared goal: the continued success and excellence of the School of Nursing.

Stepping Into the Future of Nursing Education!

Nursing representatives from various schools in Davao City recently took part in an exciting hands-on session with HCT Virtual Reality (VR) — a next-generation three-dimensional (3D) environment demonstration conducted by HCT Academy.

Joining the event were SPC-SON Clinical Coordinator,Level 4: Rodeliza Faith B. Guillermo, RN,MN; Level 3: Ferdinand Catungal ,RN, MAN, the SIMPro (Simulation Innovation and Modernization Program) Team of the School of Nursing represented by Amie Agujetas, RN, Joshua Coronel, RN,MN, Jeremiah James Pepito, RN,MN, and selected Level 3 and 4 nursing students, who got an immersive look into how VR (Virtual Reality) technology is transforming clinical learning and patient care.

The SPC School of Nursing successfully held its highly anticipated engagement program, “𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞,” on July 23, 2025, at the Philomene Labrecque Hall.

The event gathered health care agencies in a shared commitment to advance nursing education and professional training. Designed as a platform for collaborative discourse and mutual learning, the program served to reinforce the Proposed Guidelines for the Accreditation of Health Facilities used for Related Learning Experience (RLE). The discussion focused on setting clear standards for compliance, outlining the responsibilities of each institution, and making sure there are quality assurance measures in place to keep clinical environments safe and effective in the development of competent and compassionate future nurses.

Held on 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟳 at the 𝗦𝗣𝗖 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀, the 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲: "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗼𝘀" was spearheaded by our dedicated clinical instructors 🧑‍⚕️👩‍⚕️ who developed realistic, high intensity scenarios, at times unexpectedly complex, to simulate real world emergency situations. These experiences aimed to prepare our future nurses for the unpredictable nature of disaster response. 🌀🚨

Fully equipped and fueled by passion, our student nurses showcased the skills they have honed from Level 1 to Level 4 but this time, under pressure and chaos! 🩺🔥 From triaging to emergency care, each task tested their strength, knowledge, and teamwork.

This special event was thoughtfully organized by the 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 in collaboration with the 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿.Together, they created a safe and uplifting space to prepare the hearts and minds of the future nurses. 🕊️

The journey began with 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, where the students were invited to visualize the future they aspire to achieve. Through stillness and intention, they imagined themselves as empowered, compassionate healers ready to serve. 🧠💖

Following this, the group reflected on the day’s 𝗚𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, drawing strength and insight from its message. Personal reflections were shared, filling the space with faith, hope, and gratitude. 📖🌟

As the journey neared its end, the students wrote their personal prayers on small pieces of paper and gently placed them on a collective prayer banner. Each prayer carried a silent wish, a dream, or a plea entrusted to the Divine. 📝🙏

The gathering concluded with warm embraces and heartfelt whispers of encouragement. Words like “Good luck,” “You are ready,” and “You’ve got this” filled the room with love and support. It was a beautiful reminder that in unity, they are strong and ready to face the licensure exam ahead. 💖🎓

A meaningful and transformative morning unfolded on 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, at 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗚𝘆𝗺 as 𝗕𝗦𝗡 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝟰 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 came together for a culminating seminar with the theme: “𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: 𝗔 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗿𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁.” 📚

The event was masterfully hosted by the ever-enthusiastic 𝗦𝗶𝗿 𝗗𝗝 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘀, 𝗥𝗡, 𝗠𝗔𝗡 🎤 who kept the energy high and the atmosphere engaging throughout the program.

𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗔. 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗷𝗮, 𝗥𝗡, 𝗠𝗡, 𝗠𝗔𝗡 opened the session with inspiring remarks, offering a glimpse into the relevance of the day’s topic and reminding students of the vital connection between nursing practice and the legal-ethical framework in which it operates. ✨

A warm welcome and seamless introduction of the distinguished speakers were given by 𝗦𝗶𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹, 𝗥𝗡, 𝗠𝗗, and 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝘆𝗸𝗼, 𝗥𝗡, 𝗥𝗧𝗥𝗣, setting the tone for a lineup of insightful and impactful discussions. 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

The first keynote speaker, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗼, discussed 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝟭𝟭𝟮𝟮𝟯 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁, emphasizing its impact on accessibility, equity, and the quality of health services. She highlighted the vital role of nurses in advancing UHC and navigating health policy reforms. 🌍🏥

This was followed by 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗟𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗥𝗡, who tackled 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗼-𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴. Through real-life cases and legal insights, she underscored the importance of professional accountability and ethical decision-making in nursing practice. ⚖️🧠

As the seminar came to a close, Associate 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗥𝗡, 𝗠𝗡, 𝗥𝗧𝗥𝗣 delivered heartfelt closing remarks, leaving the students with a message to carry forward in their journey: “Safe journeys, and always be a nurse with a purpose.” 💙✨

The morning concluded with a solemn prayer led by 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗬𝗯𝗮ñ𝗲𝘇, 𝗥𝗡, 𝗠𝗔𝗡, reinforcing gratitude, humility, and purpose in the nursing profession. 🙏💫 More than a culmination of academic learning, the seminar served as a springboard into ethical and legal readiness, equipping future nurses with the insight and integrity to uphold the highest standards of care. 🩺👩‍⚕️
