When a child is having a meltdown/tantrum, how we respond can either help them calm down or escalate the situation.

☔️Co-regulation involves staying calm, offering reassurance, and modeling soothing behaviors to help the child regain control.

⚡️Co-escalation happens when our own frustration or anxiety amplifies the child's distress.

A calm presence can be the key to guiding a child through their emotional storm. ⛈️
