Our learners charged into the weekend with an action-packed Friday Funday filled with laughter, movement, and a lot of skill-building! Our amazing kids took on the "Hop, Crawl, Aim" challenge—a series of developmental activities designed to boost their gross motor skills, balance, and coordination.

Our learners wrapped up the week in the coziest way possible—in their favorite PJs! Today's Friday Funday was all about Sensory Integration, using fun, intentional play to help our kids process and respond to the world around them. 🧠💪

Here’s how our cozy activities targeted key sensory systems today:
🎵 Listening to Calming Music: Supported auditory processing and emotional self-regulation, helping our learners find their calm.
⭕ Entering the Hula Hoop: Promoted body awareness (proprioception) and motor planning as they navigated physical boundaries.
🫧 Popping Bubbles: Boosted visual tracking, focus, and hand-eye coordination.

Friday Fun Day: Celebrating Our Amazing Moms

Theme: “It’s the little things you do and the big ways you care.”

Our hearts are still full from our special Friday Funday! 🎨🎈 There is nothing quite like the energy of our kids playing alongside their beloved mothers.

Watching you engage in our therapy activities, we were reminded that motherhood here is a beautiful blend of love and intentionality. It’s the little things—the way you celebrate a single word, a successful transition, or a sensory breakthrough—that show the big ways you care.

You aren't just "mom"; you are the cheerleader, the protector, and the one who sees the beauty in every unique detail. To all our therapy center mamas: Today, we celebrate you. We hope your Mother’s Day is filled with the same joy and light you bring to our center every week! 💐☀️

Friday Fun Day — BALIK SAYA: Kalinga Ngayon, Pag-asa ng Bukas🌟

🌈 Routine Activities:

🇵🇭 Flag Ceremony – encouraging discipline, respect, and group participation.
🙏 Prayer with Sign Language – supporting mindfulness and inclusive communication.
🚶‍♀️ Gross Motor Walking – promoting coordination, balance, and body awareness.
💆‍♀️ Sensory Massage – helping learners regulate and prepare for the day’s activities.

Main Activities: Sensory-Motor Station Activities and Socio-Cognitive Interactive activity

Activity 1: Laro ng Lahi Relay!

Station 1: Pasok bola sa Bilao🧺

🙋The learners sorted balls from a mixed basket into specific bilao labeled red, yellow, and blue. They moved actively to select and matched the balls to their corresponding colors, which promoted engagement and strengthened their color recognition skills.

Station 2: Pares-Pares sa Palengke🍊🍎🍌🍇

🙋The station functioned as a mini palengke. The learners were given cards and bought or collected the exact picture matches for their cards from the market.

Station 3: Gayahin Mo, Galaw ko!👯🐱🐇

The learners imitated Filipino animal sounds and movements.

—To promote independent task completion, enhance focus and attention, and develop color recognition and decision-making skills, thereby encouraging active participation and self-confidence.

Activity 2: Kwentong Buhay-buhay🧚‍🌸

🙋The learners listened to a story re-enacted by the performers. They stayed engaged by imitating sounds and movements and answering questions throughout the narrative.

—To help develop listening skills, attention, auditory processing, social interaction, and expressive communication. More importantly, visual and auditory cues support comprehension and engagement in a fun, interactive way.

✨Today’s activities were a wonderful success, facilitated by the BS PSYCH 3B Class from San Pedro College! Through their Structured Learning Experience for Children with Exceptionalities, and in collaboration with the ATCFDI team, we created a supportive and engaging environment for our learners.

Routine Activities:
🇵🇭 Flag Ceremony - reinforcing, structure, respect, and routine.

🚶‍♀️ Gross Motor Walking - warming up the body for movement based learning.
💆‍♀️ Sensory Massage - preparing the children for smoother participation.

Developmental Activities:

— Leafy Boots👣🍃
🙋 The learners performed rhythmic marching over natural leaves, demonstrating improved bilateral coordination and balance on uneven surfaces.

— Cone Zigzag⚡️🕵🏻‍♀️
🙋 The learners followed a zigzag path between the cones and collected the pictures. This activity helps to improve the ability to find specific items and provides sensory input, which helps with balance and emotional regulation.

— Kangaroo Kove🦘
🙋 The learners performed consecutive hops on the mats, maintaining postural and balance upon landing. This provides proprioceptive input and
vestibular stimulation.

— Sticky-Step Station👣
🙋 The learners engaged in a sensory-motor task, stepping and marching while navigating the resistance of the sticky mat.

— Match Zone🖼️🕵🏻‍♀️✏️
🙋 The learners matched pictures to their corresponding physical objects to improves visual discrimination.

✨A huge thank you to the UHA and AMSAI interns for joining the ATCFDI Team today! Together, they facilitated sensory-integrated activities that challenged our learners to step, match, and move. These activities are vital for developing bilateral coordination and sensory habituation, proving that every purposeful step is a victory in our developmental journey.

Friday Fun Day: Beach Day🏖️

Routine Activities:

🇵🇭 Flag Ceremony - setting the tone with structure and routine.
🙏🏻Prayer with Sign Language - encouraging focus and calm interaction.

Main Activities: Pick up shell, Color fishing, and Animal match-up under the sea

🐚 Pick up shell
🙋 The learners identified and picked up only the shells from the tub.

—- improve their fine motor skills by grasping objects and provides sensory calming through the fell of the water. It also encourages focus and coordination as they reach for and collect each shell.

🎣 Color Fishing
🙋The learners used fishing rod to catch the fish according to their specific color.

—- it helps practice color recognition while improving their hand-eye coordination and patience through fun, structured task. It also strengthens the fine motor skills needed to steady the rod and aim for a specific target.

🌊Animal Match-up Under the Sea🐠🪸
🙋The learners matched and pasted the animals that belong to the ‘Under the Sea’ category.

—-develop categorization skills by identifying marine animals and strengthens their fine motor control through the actions of matching and pasting. It also reinforces vocabulary and visual focus within a structured theme.

The activities were fascilitated by the ATCFDI team, to encourage sensory play and social interaction during fun-filled beach day simulation.✨

🌟Our learners were fully engaged in a guided viewing session of Migration (2023) today. By utilizing modified audio and calming visuals, we created a low-stimulation environment that allowed every learner to connect meaningfully with the story.🦆✨

Routine Activities:

Main Activities: Color Touch, Sorting, and Ball Toss

🌈Color Touch with the ball - colored plastic ball to colored hand pictures (yellow, blue, green, & red)
🙋The learners matched the balls to the corresponding colored hand pictures.
—- matching require children to analyze attributes and identify similarities and differences. This builds logical thinking, visual memory, and categorization skills.
—- picking up, grasping, and precisely placing balls strengthens small hand muscles and improves the pincer grasp.

🖼️Sorting game - Labeled sorting buckets ( Land, Water, Air, and Planet)
🙋The learners picked a picture and placed it in the bucket labeled with correct location.
—- using labeled buckets for a “Land, Water, Air, or Land” is to help learners move visual recognition (seeing a picture) to symbolic literacy.

🏐Ball Toss
🙋The learners engaged in a ball-tossing activity.
—-synchronize their visual input with their hand movements to catch.
—-understand “force regulation”— learning how much power is needed.
—- using both sides of the body together to stabilize and throw.

✨Today’s activities were fascilitated by the AMSAI and Holy Cross interns, together with the ATCFDI team! It was a great success—the children enjoyed themselves and gained valuable knowledge through interactive play.🌟

Friday Fun Day at ATCFDI: Musical Discovery Day! ✨🎶

Today’s Friday Fun Day introduced our learners to the exciting world of musical instruments, encouraging listening, creativity, and problem-solving through engaging activities.

Routine Activities:

🇵🇭 Flag Ceremony – fostering discipline, unity, and respect.
🙏 Prayer with Sign Language – promoting calmness and inclusive communication.
🚶 Gross Motor Walking – supporting coordination, balance, and readiness for learning.
💆 Sensory Massage – helping learners relax and prepare for the day’s actiInstrument.

Main Activities: Exploring Musical Instruments

🧩 Instrument Puzzle Completion
Learners assembled puzzles featuring different musical instruments, strengthening visual recognition, problem-solving skills, and hand-eye coordination.

🔊 Identifying Instrument Sounds
Children listened to various instrument sounds and identified them, supporting auditory discrimination, attention, and sound recognition.

🎨 Coloring Musical Instruments
Using printed sheets and crayons, learners colored different instruments, encouraging creativity, fine motor control, and color awareness.

Today’s activities were facilitated by the HCDC Interns together with the ATCFDI Team, creating a lively and supportive learning environment for our learners.
