Friday Fun Day: Sights, Sort, and Play
March 27, 2026

Routine Activities:

🇵🇭 Flag Ceremony - encouraging discipline, respect, and group participation.
🙏🏻 Prayer with Sign Language - supporting mindfulness and inclusive communication.
🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️ Gross Motor Walking - promoting coordination, balance, and body awareness.
💆‍♀️ Sensory Massage - helping learners regulate and prepare for the day’s activities.

Main Activities: Color Touch, Sorting, and Ball Toss

🌈Color Touch with the ball - colored plastic ball to colored hand pictures (yellow, blue, green, & red)
🙋The learners matched the balls to the corresponding colored hand pictures.
—- matching require children to analyze attributes and identify similarities and differences. This builds logical thinking, visual memory, and categorization skills.
—- picking up, grasping, and precisely placing balls strengthens small hand muscles and improves the pincer grasp.

🖼️Sorting game - Labeled sorting buckets ( Land, Water, Air, and Planet)
🙋The learners picked a picture and placed it in the bucket labeled with correct location.
—- using labeled buckets for a “Land, Water, Air, or Land” is to help learners move visual recognition (seeing a picture) to symbolic literacy.

🏐Ball Toss
🙋The learners engaged in a ball-tossing activity.
—-synchronize their visual input with their hand movements to catch.
—-understand “force regulation”— learning how much power is needed.
—- using both sides of the body together to stabilize and throw.

✨Today’s activities were fascilitated by the AMSAI and Holy Cross interns, together with the ATCFDI team! It was a great success—the children enjoyed themselves and gained valuable knowledge through interactive play.🌟

Friday Fun Day at ATCFDI: Musical Discovery Day! ✨🎶

Today’s Friday Fun Day introduced our learners to the exciting world of musical instruments, encouraging listening, creativity, and problem-solving through engaging activities.

Routine Activities:

🇵🇭 Flag Ceremony – fostering discipline, unity, and respect.
🙏 Prayer with Sign Language – promoting calmness and inclusive communication.
🚶 Gross Motor Walking – supporting coordination, balance, and readiness for learning.
💆 Sensory Massage – helping learners relax and prepare for the day’s actiInstrument.

Main Activities: Exploring Musical Instruments

🧩 Instrument Puzzle Completion
Learners assembled puzzles featuring different musical instruments, strengthening visual recognition, problem-solving skills, and hand-eye coordination.

🔊 Identifying Instrument Sounds
Children listened to various instrument sounds and identified them, supporting auditory discrimination, attention, and sound recognition.

🎨 Coloring Musical Instruments
Using printed sheets and crayons, learners colored different instruments, encouraging creativity, fine motor control, and color awareness.

Today’s activities were facilitated by the HCDC Interns together with the ATCFDI Team, creating a lively and supportive learning environment for our learners.

Friday Fun Day: Exploring the Barber & Salon Experience ✨💈

Today’s session introduced our learners to a familiar community setting — the barber shop and salon — through engaging, hands-on activities designed to develop cognitive, sensory, and fine motor skills.

🌈 Routine Activities:

🚶 Gross Motor Walking – promoting coordination, balance, and body awareness.

💈 Main Activities: Barber & Salon Exploration

🧩 Barber Shop Puzzle
Learners worked on puzzles featuring items commonly found inside a barber shop, helping them practice visual recognition, problem-solving, and association skills.

✂️ Cutting Lines Activity
Using scissors and printed line patterns, learners practiced cutting along lines, strengthening fine motor control, hand coordination, and scissor skills.

🧵 Sensory Texture Exploration
Learners explored different textures such as wigs, OT brushes, yarn, paint brushes, and combs, allowing them to experience and identify various sensory inputs in a safe and friendly environment.

💇 Barber/Salon Simulation
Learners experienced a pretend barber/salon setup, exploring tools such as combs, scissors, blower, mirror, barber cape, and clipper sounds. This activity helped them build familiarity with grooming routines, reduce anxiety with real-life experiences, and encourage imaginative role-play.

Today’s activities were facilitated by the ATCFDI team, creating a supportive and engaging environment where learners could explore, learn, and build confidence.

Today’s session focused on strengthening functional and daily living skills through structured, hands-on activities designed for both our younger and adult learners.

Routine Activities:
🇵🇭 Flag Ceremony – promoting discipline, structure, and respect.
🙏 Prayer with Sign Language – encouraging mindfulness and inclusive communication.
🚶 Gross Motor Activity – enhancing coordination and body awareness.
💆 Sensory Massage – supporting regulation and readiness for task engagement.

🧸 Organizing & Sorting Tasks (Kids Group)
Our younger learners practiced responsibility and independence through:
• Arranging chairs properly
• Toy clean-up and organizing materials
• Dusting school materials with a soft cloth
• Folding towels or washcloths
• Throwing paper scraps into the bin
• Lining up shoes neatly

These activities support sequencing, classification, fine motor coordination, and task completion skills.

🧼 Wipe & Wash Tasks (Adult Group)
Our adult learners engaged in practical life skills training such as:
• Sweeping the floor
• Spraying and wiping tables
• Washing and drying dishes
• Proper table setting (plate center, fork left, spoon right)
• Mopping the floor

These tasks strengthen functional independence, hygiene practices, and real-life responsibility skills.

All activities were facilitated by the ATCFDI team, ensuring structured guidance and meaningful participation for every learner.

Another purposeful Friday dedicated to empowering independence through everyday skills.

Yesterday’s celebration was filled with love, laughter, and meaningful moments shared by our learners and their families. Through fun activities and joyful interactions, we celebrated the beauty of acceptance, connection, and unconditional love.

💌 Main Activity: Valentine’s Card Making (Arts & Crafts)
Learners participated in an arts and crafts session involving cutting, pasting, writing, and picture-taking to create their own Valentine’s cards.

This activity supported the development of:
• Fine motor skills and hand strength
• Hand-eye coordination
• Creativity and emotional expression
• Early writing and communication skills

The activities were facilitated by the teachers, with valuable support from UHA and University of Mindanao interns, ensuring a smooth, engaging, and joyful learning experience for all.

Yesterday, our learners enjoyed an exciting and colorful Carnival Day, filled with movement, creativity, and purposeful play. With cute and creative carnival decorations setting the mood, the learning space truly came alive! 🎈🎨

🎪 SLE Theme: Welcome to the Carnival Day!
This session focused on enhancing gross motor skills, fine motor coordination, sensory integration, and creativity through fun, carnival-inspired activities.

Main Activities:
🔥 Carnival Obstacle Adventure
Learners challenged their bodies through a multi-level obstacle course that included:
• a jumping course to build strength and coordination
• a circle-through pathway to enhance body awareness
• a tightrope game serving as a pathway to another level, promoting balance and focus

🍿 Popcorn Scoop at the Cinema
Using tongs, learners scooped popcorn into buckets, strengthening hand–eye coordination, grip strength, and fine motor control in a fun pretend-play setting.

🦁 Welcome to the Lion’s Den
Learners created the lion’s mane using yarn, encouraging creativity, finger dexterity, and imaginative expression.

The entire activity was facilitated with care and enthusiasm by UM Interns, making the experience engaging, supportive, and joyful for every child. With the support of JMC Senior High Interns, and the whole team of ATCFDI.

Yesterday's Friday Fun Day was an exciting Indoor Field Trip to the Park, Farm, and Zoo! 🏞️🚜🦁

Our learners explored different environments through fun, hands-on activities that supported association, classification, and fine motor skills — all while having a blast!

Friday Routine:

🙏 Prayer with Sign Language – encouraging mindfulness and inclusive communication.
🚶‍♂️ Gross Motor Walking – warming up the body for movement-based activities.
💆‍♂️ Sensory Massage – preparing learners for focused engagement.

SLE Theme: Indoor Field Trip – Park, Farm, and Zoo
A playful session designed to develop classification, observation, and fine motor skills through interactive, themed activities.

Main Activities:
🥚 Colored Egg Hunt at the Park
Learners searched for colorful eggs, practicing visual discrimination, counting, and hand-eye coordination while enjoying a playful “park adventure.”

🍎 Picking Fruits at the Farm
Children collected pretend fruits, building fine motor skills, sorting abilities, and cooperative play as they explored the “farm.”

🦁 Identify Animal Sounds at the Zoo
Participants listened to different animal sounds and matched them to pictures, supporting auditory discrimination, classification skills, and animal recognition.

This Friday Fun Day was focused on building independence through “Everyday Skills Made Fun: Self-Help and Daily Living Skills.”

Our learners actively participated in hands-on stations designed to turn simple routines into meaningful learning experiences.

Friday Routine:
🇵🇭 Flag Ceremony – strengthening discipline and sense of routine.
🙏 Prayer with Sign Language – promoting mindfulness and inclusive communication.
🚶‍♂️ Gross Motor Walking – preparing the body for task engagement.
💆‍♂️ Sensory Massage – supporting regulation and readiness for learning.

🧽 Main Activities: Everyday Skills Stations

🧹 Cleaning Station
Children practiced toy organizing as basic cleaning tasks to develop responsibility, coordination, and task completion skills.

🪥 Grooming Station
Children explored a daily self-care routine, supporting self-awareness, independence, and personal hygiene habit.

♻️ Waste Sorting Station
They also sorted items into recyclable, biodegradable, and non-biodegradable, strengthening classification skills, environmental awareness, and decision-making.

This meaningful session was facilitated by the University of Mindanao Interns with the help of UHA and JMC Caregiver-Interns, whose guidance and dedication helped make each station engaging and purposeful. 💛

Through guided activities, the children explored movement, emotions, and cooperation while strengthening important developmental skills.

😊 Activity 2 – Panda’s Emoji Emotion Match
Children matched emojis to different emotions, supporting emotional awareness, visual matching, and basic social understanding.

🚂 Activity 3 – Bear Friendship Train (Rope by Pair)
Learners worked in pairs to form a “friendship train,” promoting teamwork, cooperation, turn-taking, and gross motor coordination as they moved together.

Last December 22, the Autism Therapy Center Foundation of Davao, Inc. (ATCFDI) came together for a joyful Year-End Party filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. Our Disney-themed celebration truly brought magic to life as our Ausome kids, parents, staff, and coaches enjoyed a day full of smiles, colors, and togetherness. 🏰✨

We extend our deepest gratitude for a successful year—one made possible by the unwavering support of our parents and families, the dedication and passion of our coaches and staff, and the inspiring leadership of our Executive Director. Every milestone, progress, and victory this year reflects the collective effort, commitment, and heart of the ATCFDI community. 💙
