Eid Mubarak!

This photo was taken by my husband a few years ago during an Eid congregational prayer in Davao. It was published on the front page of The Philippine Daily Inquirer.

It is one of my favorite pictures, mainly because it evokes poignant emotions and highlights the child. Years later, when I became a pediatrician, this photo became more significant to me as it resonates with my work in putting the health and welfare of the Filipino child above all else.

During this time of war and crisis, I hold this photo a little more closely to my heart.
