In a stunning medical breakthrough, scientists in China have successfully reversed Type 1 diabetes in a female patient by using her own stem cells. For the first time since her diagnosis, her body began producing insulin naturally, eliminating the need for daily injections. This achievement could change the future of diabetes treatment forever.
The innovative procedure began by collecting the womanโs own cells and reprogramming them into stem cells. Researchers then guided these stem cells to become insulin-producing beta cells. Once developed, the lab-grown cells were implanted into her abdomen. These newly introduced cells began secreting insulin, effectively regulating her blood sugar levels from within.
