—Pyometra , a serious uterine infection commonly seen in unspayed dogs.

Many open pyometra cases appear temporarily stable, which sometimes leads owners to delay and postpone surgical intervention while undergoing medical treatment . The uterus is open and purulent / bloody discharges with foul odor continues to drain out of the v***a but uterus is still diseased and infections with complications can still develop. In chronic cases, the uterus may be very thin and fragile , increasing the risk of rupture during manipulation. Surgical treatment remains the most definitive and life-saving management for this condition.
This case reminds us of the importance of early veterinary consultation and timely treatment, as uterine infections can progress and become life-threatening if left untreated.
