SpectrUM, the official moot and debate team of the University of Mindanao College of Law, successfully hosted Player 001: An Inter-Year Level Debate Competition in the recently concluded Casus Belli 2025! 🎙🔥

Debaters tackled motions on constitutional issues, politics, environment, criminal law, free speech, women and children, and economics and taxation. The event was graced by esteemed adjudicators who are SpectrUM alumni: Atty. Jefferson Nuñeza, Atty. Amir Ibrahim, Atty. Krisha Faye Ambol, Atty. Kristina Marie Clavero, Richel Dean Solis, and SpectrUM Moderator, Atty. Denise Christine Lim.

This event was facilitated by SpectrUM Officers: Felmark Fuego, Jaspher Jade Baliscao, Lyn Antonniette Guatno, Arianne Loise Evangelista, Fernan Joshua Bantiding, Arjoe Marie Cabudlan, Kathleen Claire Bantuana, and RJ Rama.

In a true battle of wits during the Q&A round, these debaters showcased not just their intellect, eloquence, and legal acumen—but also the confidence to command both the stage and the argument.

SpectrUM Shines Through at the 3rd Inter-Law School Human Rights Debate

SpectrUM debaters Felmark Fuego, Lyn Antonniette Guatno, Kathleen Claire S. Bantuana, and Jaspher Jade Baliscao demonstrated excellence and resilience during the 3rd Inter-Law School Human Rights Debate Tournament, held from November 9-12, 2024. With two rounds scoring average to above average and one round at an average level, they competed alongside 22 law schools, showcasing their debating skills, passion for human rights, and commitment to advocacy.

This achievement would not have been possible without the steadfast support of the University of Mindanao College of Law, Dean Antonio Arellano, Assistant Dean Ahmedsiddique B. Dalam, the invaluable mentorship of SpectrUM alumni, and the tireless dedication of our moderator and coaches.
