It appears that an effort is being made to create the impression that lawyers and witnesses involved in the case against former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD) are being harassed, particularly online. While this may not reflect the reality we know, we must remain vigilant and understand how such narratives can be used to influence the proceedings.

To all my fellow Filipinos, please avoid any online or in-person behavior that could be perceived as harassment or intimidation. These actions can be used as evidence to support the complaint against FPRRD or may be cited in court to claim that the safety of witnesses and lawyers is at risk. In either case, they do not help FPRRD’s cause.

As ordinary citizens, let us focus on what we can control. Our main focus should be showing our love and support for FPRRD in a peaceful, respectful, and lawful way.

We must also vote wisely in the upcoming elections, choosing leaders who uphold justice, truth, and integrity.

Most importantly, let us conduct ourselves with discipline, respect, and positivity. This will send a strong and unified message to the international community, including the ICC, that the majority, if not all, of the Filipino people support FPRRD with dignity and principle.

There is no room for hate or aggression. These will only harm the cause and are entirely unnecessary. Let us lead with unity, respect, and love for our country.

Davao 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte wrote to Representative Joel Chua to inform him that he allowed his sister, Vice President Sara Duterte, to stay in his office at the House of Representatives.

“Kindly also note that she is amenable to stay in this Representation’s office even without electricity and running water and during periods of maintenance,” Rep. Duterte stated in his letter.

It can be recalled that Vice President Sara visited her Chief-of-Staff, Atty. Zuleika Lopez, after convicted criminal France Castro moved to cite her in contempt.
