On Day 2 of Linggo ng Kabataan 2025, our Pasian Red Cross Youth volunteers proudly showed up, not just to join the fun, but to ensure a safe and secure space for everyone. From the energetic Larong Lahi in the morning to the insightful KK Assembly led by Hon. Michael Jade Ediza in the afternoon, we were there every step of the way.

It was a day full of teamwork, leadership, and youth empowerment values that perfectly align with what we stand for. We’re proud to support events like this that bring the youth together and create meaningful change in the community.

To our fellow kabataan, thank you for your energy, your passion, and your trust. And to our Red Cross Youth team, great job, as always! Let’s continue to serve with courage, compassion, and commitment.

Successful Clean-up Drive!💗

The spirit of volunteerism and youth empowerment came alive as we began Day 1 of our participation in Linggo ng Kabataan 2025. The event brought together young leaders and volunteers committed to creating positive change in the community.

The Pasian First Aid Unit Council proudly took part in the Clean-Up Drive alongside the SK Pasian and other dedicated organizations. This initiative, spearheaded by SK Chairman Michael Jade Ediza, emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship and collective action. Our members actively contributed their time and effort to help restore and maintain the cleanliness of our surroundings.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and collaborate with fellow youth leaders in this meaningful endeavor. As the week unfolds, we look forward to continuing our involvement in activities that inspire leadership, responsibility, and a stronger, more united Pasian.

Philippine Red Cross Joins the Nation in Observing International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month 2025

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) joins the nation and the global humanitarian community in observing International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month this August 2025, reaffirming its commitment to uphold the protection of human dignity and to promote respect for the rules of war.

International Humanitarian Law, also known as the Law of Armed Conflict, is a set of international rules that seeks to limit the effects of armed conflict—protecting those who are not, or no longer, participating in hostilities and restricting the means and methods of warfare. In the Philippines, August has been declared IHL Month under Executive Order No. 134, s. 1999.

As an auxiliary to the government in the humanitarian field and a long-standing advocate of humanitarian principles, the Philippine Red Cross continues to champion the dissemination and application of IHL. Through educational campaigns, partnerships, and field-level humanitarian work, PRC supports efforts to:

• Promote understanding and compliance with IHL,
• Protect civilians and humanitarian workers,
• Foster a culture of humanity even in times of conflict.

PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon emphasized the importance of IHL in today’s world:

“Even in the midst of war, there must be respect for human life. International Humanitarian Law reminds us that there are lines that must not be crossed. The Philippine Red Cross will always be on the side of humanity—bringing help to the vulnerable, speaking out for the voiceless, and upholding the principles that make us human.”

Throughout August, PRC will conduct awareness campaigns, capacity-building sessions, and forums with key stakeholders to deepen public understanding of IHL and its relevance in conflict and disaster settings.

As IHL Month is commemorated, the Philippine Red Cross encourages all Filipinos to take part in promoting the universal values of protection, neutrality, and compassion—because even wars have rules.

CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS!!!📣

The Philippine Red Cross - Davao de Oro Chapter is now accepting participants for OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID TRAINING on AUGUST 21-22, 2025 (16 Hours).

Occupational First Aid Training is a two-day course recommended for the workplace that offers first aid and CPR that responds to occupational hazards. It complies with the requirements of DOLE, which defines a ”certified first-aider” as any person trained and duly certified or qualified to administer first aid by the Philippine Red Cross.

For those who are interested to join, the training will start at 8AM at the Philippine Red Cross Davao de Oro Chapter Training Room located at Purok 15, Poblacion, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro. Kindly wear comfortable clothes and bring your registration fee.

LOOK | The Pasian First Aid Unit Community Red Cross Youth Council held its 2nd meeting on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the SK Office, Barangay Pasian. This meeting served as a catch-up for those who weren't able to attend our 1st meeting on July 6, 2025.

We had a productive afternoon welcoming new members, learning about PFAU's mission, and introducing our new set of officers. The meeting covered vital topics including RCY database updates and other important matters that will directly impact our ability to provide effective first aid and support to those in need.

A special highlight of the meeting was the inspiring speech from SK Chairman Hon. Michael Jade R. Ediza, who also treated us to snacks!. The meeting began with an opening prayer led by Rotchelyn Arecto, our PFAU Secretary. Moreover, our PFAU President Norgene Niel Glindro shared valuable insights about PFAU's objectives, initiatives, and she introduced the new set of officers. Lastly, ended with a closing prayer led by Shakira Amor S. Dilan.

We're excited to continue our work, strengthening our capabilities and expanding our reach within Barangay Pasian. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion! ❤️
