Don’t downplay pet bites or scratches, even if it’s your own pet. Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms appear, but it is 100% preventable if treated early.

Whether it’s from your pet or a stray animal, wash the wound immediately and get a rabies vaccine as soon as possible.

Better to be safe than sorry. Protect yourself and your family. 🐾💉

2 KA BATA PATAY SA RABIES SA DAVAO CITY

Duha ka bata ang namatay tungod sa rabies sa Davao City karong 2026, sumala ni Dr. Yleona Ysabel T. Camelotes, head sa Animal Bite and Treatment Center.

Ang mga biktima nag-edad og 2-anyos ug 4-anyos, parehong gikan sa Barangay Salaysay, Marilog District.

Sumala sa opisyal, wala nakadawat og anti-rabies vaccine ang mga biktima.

Sa datos sa center, tulo ka kaso ang natala sa 2024 gikan sa Ilang, Tugbok, ug Talomo North, samtang unom ka kaso ang natala sa 2025 gikan sa lain-laing barangay sa dakbayan.

Gibutyag ni Camelotes nga 100% makamatay ang rabies, apan 100% usab kini malikayan kung magpa-vaccine dayon human mapaakan o makambrasan sa alagang hayop.

Samtang, nagpadayon ang City Veterinarian’s Office sa Davao City sa libreng anti-rabies vaccination alang sa mga iro ug iring sa lain-laing barangay sa Marso aron mapanalipdan ang mga alagang hayop ug ang publiko batok sa rabies.
