DOH PODTP-PHILNOS Convenes Consultative Meeting with the Technical Working Group on the Development of Operational Guidelines of the Revised National Policy on Organ and Tissue Donation and Allocation of Organs from Deceased Donors

This activity engaged key stakeholders such as the DOH-accredited Organ Procurement Organizations and Transplant Centers, National Transplant Ethics Committee, Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, Tissue Banks (Eye Bank and Bone Bank), Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group, Organ Donation Innovative Strategies for Southeast Asia and relevant stakeholders — working collectively in refining the national framework for deceased organ and tissue donation, and strengthening an equitable and ethical organ and tissue donation system in the country. This underscores the DOH’s steadfast unwavering dedication to public trust, accountability, and inclusive access to life-enhancing and life-saving transplantation services. We were honored to welcome Prof. Lionel Rostaing during his visit to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC). His day began with a courtesy call to Atty Mata (Chief Admin Officer), followed by an insightful lecture to our nephro fellows, where he shared his expertise and valuable clinical perspectives. Prof. Rostaing also took time to engage with our patients, exemplifying compassion and excellence in care.
