That magnitude 7.4 (followed by a 6.7 aftershock) was truly alarming, and I know many of us, including my staff and patients, are feeling shaken and on edge, especially with the continuous aftershocks.

As a physician, I want to gently remind everyone to prioritize safety, both physically and emotionally, during this stressful time:

1. Please continue to follow PHIVOLCS and local government advisories, especially regarding aftershocks. Be aware of your surroundings for any structural damage.

2. Stress and fear can take a toll. If you or a loved one is experiencing panic attacks, anxiety, or physical symptoms like chest tightness, please seek help. Don't dismiss emotional distress.

3. Pregnant women, please be extra vigilant. Stress can affect both mother and baby. If you feel any unusual pain, bleeding, or decreased fetal movement, call your OB immediately.

Let's check on our neighbors and stay connected. Davao is resilient, and we will get through this together. Stay safe, stay calm, and let's pray for peace and recovery for our city and province.
