The Southern Philippine Medical Center- Poison Treatment and Control Center is the first poison treatment unit in Southern Mindanao that cater poisoned/intoxicated patients and the first poison information center to assist the general public and medical professionals in the diagnoses and management of all poisoned/intoxicated patients in Mindanao

Under the supervision of FCSUPT JUNITO F MASLANG, Regional Director, and the leadership of FSUPT DONALD R CONCEPCION, District Fire Marshal, the Davao City Fire District welcomed Dr. Ella Joy L. Nogas, Chairperson of the Southern Philippines Medical Center – Advance Toxicology Specialty Center (SPMC-ATSC) for a courtesy call.

The meeting focused on enhancing coordination for emergency response, specifically regarding hazardous materials (HazMat) and toxic exposure cases. Both offices reaffirmed their commitment to a collaborative partnership, ensuring a more integrated and effective approach to protecting the Davao community from specialized environmental and chemical threats.
