To help control the spread of Monkeypox (MPOX), the Provincial Governor’s Office has issued Executive Order No. 20, Series of 2025. This order mandates the use of face masks and the strict observance of health protocols throughout the province.

Barangay Health Workers and selected members of the Sangguniang Kabataan from various barangays in Matanao participated in a Rabies Awareness Month event, led by Rabies Program Coordinator, Ms. Joy A. Madayag, RN, PHN III, and Dr. Kim C. Fueconcillo, Veterinary II of the Provincial Veterinary Office. Joining them at the event was Ms. Riza R. Dacalos, RN, MPH, Health Education Promotion Officer II of the Provincial Health Office of Davao del Sur. The event took place in the Municipality of Matanao on March 28, 2025.

The event aimed to raise awareness about rabies prevention and control, highlighting the importance of vaccinating pets and prioritizing community safety. Throughout Rabies Awareness Month, participants were encouraged to take action by committing to vaccinate their pets and educating themselves on bite prevention. A healthy community starts with responsible pet care.
