Solemnity of All Saints…

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them, saying:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.

International Day of Care and Support is an annual observance held every 29th day of October to recognize the essential, but often undervalued, role of both paid and unpaid care work. Established by the United Nations, the day aims to raise awareness about the importance of care work for social and economic well-being and to advocate for greater investment in robust and gender-responsive care systems worldwide. This is particularly important for achieving gender equality, as women disproportionately perform unpaid care work.

Today, we welcomed the BSN 3 Nursing Students Batch 2 of Jose Rizal Memorial State University – Dapitan Campus for their orientation at Our Lady of Lourdes Adult Care Home.

The activity aimed to introduce the students to their clinical duties, responsibilities, and the values of compassion and professionalism in caring for our elderly residents. We are grateful for the collaboration and look forward to a meaningful learning experience together.

In celebration of Filipino Elderly Week 2025, we at Our Lady of Lourdes Adult Care Home extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to everyone who joined us in honoring our beloved senior citizens.

This year’s theme, “Embracing Age: Living a Life with Dignity and Purpose,” reminds us that growing old is a beautiful journey — one filled with wisdom, grace, and the strength that comes from a life well-lived. Our elders are living testaments of faith, perseverance, and love, and they continue to inspire us every day.

We sincerely thank our esteemed guests and partners from the National Commission of Senior Citizens Affairs, the Dipolog City Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office for gracing this celebration with your presence and unwavering support. Your dedication to the welfare and dignity of our elderly truly strengthens our mission to provide compassionate care and respect for the senior members of our community.

May this celebration remind us all to continue valuing, respecting, and caring for our elders, for they are the foundation of who we are and the guiding light of generations to come.
