USAGE OF CONTRACEPTIVES | TREATMENT HUB

Using contraceptives is an important step in protecting your health and your future.
Contraceptives help prevent unplanned pregnancies and, when used correctly, reduce the risk of HIV and other s*xually transmitted infections (STIs).
✔️ Condoms provide dual protection — against pregnancy and HIV/STIs
✔️ Family planning empowers individuals and couples to make informed choices
✔️ Safe, responsible, and informed decisions lead to healthier communities
At CCAH Treatment Hub, we promote safe s*x, informed choices, and stigma-free care. Our team is here to provide counseling, education, and access to the right services for you.

PrEP stands for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis.

It is a medicine taken by people who are HIV-negative to prevent getting HIV. When taken correctly and consistently, PrEP is up to 99% effective in preventing HIV from s*xual contact and very effective for people who inject drugs.

Key points about PrEP:

💊 Taken before possible exposure to HIV

🛡️ Protects against HIV only (not other STIs or pregnancy)

✅ Safe and approved by health authorities

📅 Can be taken daily (most common) or on-demand (in some cases, under medical guidance)

Who can benefit from PrEP?

People with an HIV-positive partner

People with multiple s*xual partners

People who do not always use condoms

Men who have s*x with men (MSM)

Transgender persons

People who inject drugs

Anyone who feels at risk of HIV

Important:

Before starting PrEP, a person must:

Test HIV-negative

Have regular check-ups and HIV testing while on PrEP

Understanding saves lives.

AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is caused by HIV, a virus that attacks the immune system and weakens the body’s ability to fight infections. HIV is transmitted through specific bodily fluids not through casual contact, hugging, or sharing food.

The good news: with early testing, proper treatment, and prevention methods like safe practices and PrEP, people living with HIV can live long and healthy lives.

Get tested. Know your status. Break the stigma.

Let’s spread awareness and stop the stigma.

HIV/AIDS is a serious health condition that weakens the immune system, but with proper information, prevention, and treatment, lives can be protected and prolonged. Know the facts, practice safe behaviors, get tested, and support those living with HIV.

There may be no cure yet, but early detection and medication can greatly slow the progression of the disease. Prevention starts with us safe s*x, clean needles, and responsible choices.

📌 Knowledge saves lives.
📌 Compassion reduces stigma.
