The National Kidney Month Celebration, a half morning event held at the Lamberto Macias Complex, was a success, drawing participants from across the community. The event, spearheaded by our very own esteemed nephrologists together with the Internal Medicine department of NOPH and SUMCFI aimed to raise awareness about kidney health, prevention of kidney diseases, and the importance of early detection.
Educational talks by our own residents discussing kidney-friendly diets and lifestyle modifications to prevent chronic kidney disease (CKD) made it engaging through interactive Q&A sessions.

The event concluded with a strong call to action, encouraging everyone to prioritize kidney health and support those battling kidney diseases.

Tracheostomy Care and Troubleshooting Workshop with ENT-Head and Neck Surgeon Dr. Ellison Alcala.

The workshop covers the essential aspects of tracheostomy management, including indications, types, and the step-by-step procedures for care and maintenance, including problem solving in issues pertaining to tracheostomy.

The IM Department is very grateful to Dr. Alcala for the knowledge and skills imparted to the medical residents.
